International Olympic Games (Expanded) Status: Please read our response

Detailed Description:

In the last list of polls, the vote suggesting an Olympic games was suggested and approved, and W3 requested a more elaborate plan...here is perhaps at least something to work with!

I would suggest a series of simply designed mini-games that are sport oriented...be it something similar to pong for tennis, that kind of thing...easy, arcade style games that shouldn't be too hard to design. Players interested in entering their country would need to declare their participation in advance, and then either the way it could work, is either (similar to Yahoo) players are assigned an opponent and a time in which the match will take place, and there will be a tournament-style bracket until eventually there is a champion.

OR, the games can be individually based, and the winner can be decided by something like, number of goals scored in the allotted time...so that players can enter their score at whatever time they so choose. The scores are then posted publicly and once the game is closed, the top three countries with the best scores are the ones who win medals.

There could be a delegated number of gold coins per medal type...and then the overall winning country of the games (the country with the most medal points) could win a slightly larger prize.

Just a thought to expand just a little further on the initial idea...vote yes if you like the sounds of it!

45 gamers voted for the proposal.
28 gamers voted against the proposal.

The proposal has been ACCEPTED.

W3Creative reaction:

Adding such games seems a nice idea. It does involve a lot of work in designing and developing such games and the question is of course whether we should divert our efforts from the further development of the Simcountry game and put our resources into the development of many other games to make this function.

This seems like a good idea for add-ons that are developed by others and linked to the game.
