W3C - New Portal pages

So far we have found the following errors and are correcting them right now.

1. Some detail pages have a wrong header text.
2. The user profiles are wrong. Data is scrambled but will be corrected soon.
3. The top-of-the-page menu, when opened, causes some flickering on the pages. (IE only)
4. When you hide the header and bring it back, you need a refresh or click on Home to really get it back (Firefox only).
5. Many pages are not implemented with Ajax yet. This causes the screen to refresh and takes a little longer to load. We will implement Ajax to all the pages in the coming days and install them when they are done. This will improve performance and prevent the complete repaint.
6. Some pages repaint the complete screen instead of showing under the header. Example: vote news. It will be corrected.

We will keep looking for more.

You also need to remove the Cash Market link from the bidding pages:

Also, expanding the tables showing the countries when bidding or buying booster in width (80% or 100%), so we can see their full name, would be welcome.

We have seen that link. it will be corrected, leading back to the cash market page.

could you please add an option to revert the portal page so that it displays similar to the old portal? The new format hurts my eyes and I no longer am active enough for two hours of tinkering with settings (two hours that I'd rather devote to other pursuits) to be worth it.

Kinda like the option that Windows Vista had to revert to the "classic" start menu.

It only takes about two minutes to change the portal back in terms of color and patern. It's pretty easy to do.

These are my settings:

Desktop background	White
Desktop borders	Black
Menu background	Black
Menu text color	White
Button background	Blue
Button text color	White

Gadget background	Grey
Gadget borders	Black
Gadget title background	Black
Gadget title text color	White

List borders	Grey
List header background	Black
List header text color	White
List texts	Black

Icon background	Black
Icon text color	White

Basically, all backgrounds are either black or grey, text is white and the buttons are blue.

I also changed my country and enterprise widgets back to lists, instead of thumbnails.

But I have to say, the default is theme is pretty bad. :/

On the My Account widget, it no longer states when the account was registered.

No major problems are outstanding.

I agree with keith. I need to flick through my C3's quick. Most begin with Mother Nature, ie, Mother Natures reserves, Mother Natures Army, Mother Natures SOS.
With the new format all I can see is Mother Nature

Thanks for changing it back to the list like it was before.
I can still only see Mother Nature, so it must of been like that before and I had just got use to which country was where.

I like the new home page. that said it loads very slowly and looks like the Boosters don't work.

Simcountry's Tips, those that appear on mouseover, aren't working. They report Supernova error.

How do we change it to text only?

Use the icons located in the upper right corner of the box.

We are fixing the boosters right now.
Performance will be much better when we switch over to Ajax for all pages. we will try to do most of them by tomorrow.

we will also extend the gadget settings to choose for the default to be the list format.

The boosters will be fixed in a couple of minutes.
The hints problem may be solved with the same patch or separately a little later.

We are trying to find a quick fix to the painting problem.

I closed the "Simcountry Header" on my home page, but ever time I go back it's there again. Is there anyway to keep it close all the time?

It is not persistent.

I will make sure it will be persistent, even when you come back the next day.
It will be fixed ASAP.

The Revert button doesnt work.
I dislike this new setup as well. And I cant find the link to make/vote for proposals.
I'll definitely going to revert back ot the old style, when its possible.

The colors are so ghastly they make my eyes water and my head spin.

Regarding the look of the new portal, we can always wait until we can customize and share our own themes. I just hope we can round the corners of the widgets, change the the color of the left menu - or more -, and choose which image to be the header.

Just looked at the default theme. Looks much better. A dark toned grey or green suit the header. The orange was just excessive.

why does my page keep going black. T.T

I open my country in new tab switch to it...and when i go back to main tab everything goes black and i have to reload it every single time unless i sit there and wait for it to load (horribly horribly slow).

(this is in IE. yes Ie sucks, but its more convenient atm).

(internet options/ browsing history settings/ check for newer versions of stored pages, select "every time i visit the webpage", instead of "automatically")

For some reason, nearly all day today, I have not been able to get past the portal page to my countries or corps. Any clue why and if this has anything to do with new implementations?

I'm having the same issues - it says the link to all of my countries is broken......

I have e-mailed the GM's.

I'm having major issues accessing pages with any level of consistency.
