Detailed Description:
This is expanding upon the poll titled 'One Huge Land Instead?'. I though I would add some ideas about how it could be implemented. Hopefully it makes sense to all the voters.
When a neighboring slave is merged with the players main country, all the attributes of the slave get added too the main. Eg. all the population, schools, hospitals, etc. and the same with the corps.
The slave would now just be a ghost country with an aliase to the main (it would no longer require processing. As this seems to be one of the reasons why such a feature is not implemented; all the cross country calculations are too much). The only problem i can see is the mapping system, which would have to be reworked to display the main country over the top of the neighbouring slaves.
Such a feature would have big game play implications as well. It would now be easier for large empires to be managed. This is good but bad for the little guys. Maybe a max of 5 countries can be merged into one. And when calculating things such as rebels and that one massive country still counts as 5 countries/states. Also rather than having the total population allowed in the main to be a multiple of the countries merged (eg 5 countries merged = 500mill pop limit) maybe for each additional country merged, the pop limit could be increased by 75million (so 100mill + 4*75mill = 400million). Ok I(tm)m getting into the details a little bit too much. Just vote already!

The feature is asked for earlier and requires a major rewrite of large parts of the game. We will put it on our wish list but will have to implement many many waiting features before we get to it.
