Reducing the max number of military bases and fortifications
The max number of military bases of all types and the max number of Fortification will be reduced. The current numbers of 50 bases of each type and 100 fortifications will be reduced to 10 military bases of each type except for strategic bases, where the max number will be reduced to 4. The numbers are for military bases and military airports of each type.
The max number of fortifications will be reduced from 100 to 50.
The reduction will take place in small steps over a period of several weeks, with no more than one item per type of base or fortification being removed in a single game month.
The countries where reductions will take place will be compensated for the items that are being removed. The owner will receive a payment of 2 x the market value of the item at the time it is removed.
Defending a country will depend more on the number and capacity of the military units, their locations and their capability to block any invasion and repel any attack.
