No, first of all, you can answer "why is War Level 0 necesssary?". What was so problematic, that "free War Protection" needed to be added?
Next, of course "War Protection" and "War Level 0" are related...ha-ha...come on Laguna. They are virtually the same concept. If you stay at "War Level 0" or use indefinite "War Protection", you are essentially using the same strategy, which is totally avoiding or nearly so, any need for military. How are those two strategies not alike? Seriously.
As far as "fair", that was brought up by EC, who 'missed the boat' on 'free War Protection'. Nothing was ever said from here about "everything being fair for everyone always". But, the logical and common sense point made by many others that "something should be at risk" is definitely agreed with..because otherwise, it's just a child's world with the fairy 'Gamemaster' magically 'protecting' everyone and everything always. OK, so if that's the 'strategy' you or others want, then pay for it, or change to a "free" account and have 1 country with resources, corporation and population limitations, just like the rest of the "peaceful countries" is history. Maybe "as Moderator" you could even convince them to get you an island somewhere ;).
As far as "opportunities", what are you suggesting? Obviously, Gold Coins don't just magically drop into your account...so, if you have extra, then obviously you're privy to "outside opportunities". It doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Nothing was ever discussed regarding that issue, and that's some fantasy argument you created.
"War Level 0" has no purpose or use and allows a meaningless "child's world". Countries have no risk of almost anything military-related, and that is a joke, and you know it, and so does everyone else. There was never any clear reason given as to why it was 'essential' or 'critical' to add, and you yourself have said, in Jozi chat even, to 'keep things simple and fix what is broken first' (paraphrasing) as have many others. What was 'so broken' that "War Level 0" was 'critically needed'?
There's no need to respond, since your position is already stead-fast, that's obvious, and talking to you in live chat made that immeasurably clear. So, the main point is, if you want to live in some 'magical perfect risk-free country forever', then OK...you can change to "free" account and be the leader of the equivalent of a 'Simcountry' country. If you want to have Empires and enterprises with 1,000s of corporations and 100s of millions of population, not to mention owning and operating --military-- space docks on Space Stations (which you have --2-- on the strategic Space Station Carina now), then you need to be a paying member and have 'real' countries that are not given "free War Protection". It's called hypocrisy, Laguna...you sit at "War Level 0" and say you want all peace and never to lose your possesions, then you, on the other hand, are one of the largest, if not the largest, strategic weapons dealers in space.
If you want to pariticpate in the military aspects of the Simcountry, then you participate fully. If you don't, and want to be "free from all military" then you become a "free" leader. That has nothing to do with 'moderating forums' or 'seniority', and no one said it had to be 100% fair for all aspects, as obviously some leaders have built up over time...that's completely obvious and common sense. The point is, that yes, the --current rules-- should apply equally to everyone. Maybe you don't ascribe to that philosophy, and likely you have "outside opportunities" that others don't...so? That's irrelevant. Check the 'Terms and Conditions', and it's obvious that all leaders should operate on the same standards or 'current rules', which is why "multis" and "account shares" are supposedly prohibited.
