Andy, I don't know what you are doing to make corporations more profitable because we sure as hell aren't seeing it. Every country, every enterprise is struggling to make any sort of a net income. I've got one enterprise that went from 5T per game month profit to 750B after your changes. It looks to me as if all you've done is make changes to increase costs especially when it comes to supply.

Yankee,

I see surging income.
It is increasing gradually with every recent upgrade.

But I am worried about what you see.

can you give me some examples of countries or corporations not making income?
enterprise too. and world name.

I will look into it.

I just rechecked some countries and corporate monthly profit is between 2 and 10B per game month.
I see Targon missile corporation with a loss but probably because there is a surplus.

I would like to look into it ASAP.

Take a look at Olin Manufacturing on Fearless blue. That enterprise has always been an economic powerhouse yet the profit is down to 453B per month from 5-4 Trillion.
As far as my countries go I've been converting many state owned corps to enterprise owned which could be effecting population growth and worker shortages but that has always been an issue with many of them as I've got to convert workers almost every game month and migration has never exceeded 600 so more die every month than are born or migrate.

Have a look at FCB 01HT on fearless blue if you want an example. That country has always done well until lately. I have increased the government salaries in an attempt to change a tanking welfare index (which seems to help that) but income is down (not helped by the salaries) from 600B per game month to 60B and was already in the toilet before that change was made.

As far as Targon missiles, going from -400K per month to -300K per month is hardly what I would call a surplus on Fearless Blue. Yes I've built Targon Missile corps which might make you think production is up but those missiles never hit the market. While production maybe up what is available to buy probably isn't. And yes those corps took a big hit on profitability when you dropped from 900 to 800 missiles per month.

Of course as soon as I bitch about something things start to turn around after game years country and enterprise income has spiked in one month to almost normal levels.

A spike does not constitute a change.
Wait for it to stabilize, and ask again.

We have increased profits by increasing the production, or reducing the use of materials,
and at the same time, increased, gradually, the number of workers that also increases the cost but by a fraction
of the increased profitability achieved by increasing production etc.

we have a measure that is computed per corporation wo show the potential for profit.
the numbers increased a lot in the past months for all corporations.

the "good level" numbers we get, should be larger for large corporations.
Many corporations became larger.

I cannot guarantee that there are zero errors.
I have checked and rechecked recently and what we see in most corporations is that their profits increased.

Also the market value which normally trails behind the profits, is also increased and many corporations
have a market value of >1T.

As to enterprises:

In view of larger income for countries, we have reduced the contribution to the countries by enterprise corporations.
We did it twice, each time by 1%. it increased the income of enterprises.

A major factor in what you see every day is the price of products on the markets.
This can cause major fluctuations in the profits.

products are bought once in a while, and very large quantities of products are bought and sold.
a sudden decline in the price of a major product can create a large change in the profit of corporations.
Materials cost less, but the corporations producing the product receive less.

I am happy that your complaints result in a short term normalization of profit numbers.
I am afraid that this is not the result of a complaint but rather, one of the many factors that drive values in Simcountry.

However, complaints trigger thinking and checking on our side and sometimes we agree with a comment.
sometimes that are changes triggered by complaints and suggestions from players.

changes take long to materialize because changes like for example: profitability, require updates in the code and then
a testing procedure to make sure nothing is broken in the process or a new error is introduced and then we need to upgrade.

The problem wasn't anything you had done. I changed from a buying strategy I had always used to best price at the same time as your notice of corporation changes. And of course I changed back right before I complained.

Hymy ran some tests on his corps and saw no real difference.

The only thing I noticed is with a best price strategy Hymy's income from sales were fairly consistent whereas, my strategy the income from sales is all over the board with some selling much higher than average and some selling well below average. About all I could conclude from the testing was the high average was greater than the lows giving me a net higher income. That plus most of my corps are enterprise rather than CEO owned and controlled which we couldn't figure out how that made any real difference between strategies.

At any rate things are back to normal and I've given up on trying to understand why.
