It also amazes me that mercian trivocantes?? has been able to use air wings to deswtroy targets out of range, yet my air wings which are the closest possible location in my country border, cannot touch anything in that country.

That would be a good name for a slave country.

I have always believed that the reason some of the game vets choose to have some poorly defended slaves is because they feel comfortable enough with their social game status to not be attacked out of greed alone. Many of these vets would have half of LU supporting them if attacked for no good reason.

Well I did read somewhere that if your empire isn't defended at least half arse, that the person "deserved" to get it taken. However, I do agree with TP. Well Said.

Now, maybe I read the game news wrong. But garrisons are supposed to auto fill without you manually while NOT in war, BUT I swore I read, that if you are declared on, and you have no garrisons, you have to fill them manually and INSTALL THEM WITH SUPPLY UNITS.


The reason I type this is because of the four countries belonging to aqua, you'd be hardpressed to find a supply unit alive to install a garrison, yet the garrisons are popping up in all countries. In multiple targets NOW HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN, during war with no supply units?

Did I read wrong, cause it isn't making much sense to me.

The def respose can be quirky at time but he may have some "old def" in place. aqua has been on LU since the beginning of this world. the old style of def deployment allowed you to autodeply VERY large defenses long before the advent of the new engine and supply units. I still kick myself for undeploying all my D when the new engine began.

Ive encountered this many months back on bayars FB country.

If this is the case and def responds under the old guidelines, and he has larger then average placements, you may have some fun shooting 1000 wep offensive units at many thousands of defensive units. Could be like having to kill 100's of stocked defensive bases.

Someone messaged me recently pointing out the I had a poorly defended slave. I had to disagree. The country had around 6T in military assets, 5.9M population, and 2.5T total assets. The assets could be transfered in one sitting and the population is below worthless. 6T in defense is actually overkill.

After taking a closer look I recalled that I only bought ammunition plus a few interceptors for this slave and decided against buying forts. In order to strip out the population I jacked up government salaries. In the event of a war I could transfer in 2.4T in batteries and still immediate purchase enough forts.

I think there is a list of reasons for varying the military composition of each slave in your empire. In some cases an adequate offense should be an adequate deterrent. Rather than preventing the capture of a nearly worthless slave a you might prefer capturing the country making the attack.

Defense in the empire is far more relevant than defense in each individual slave. If you are looking for a war, leaving undefended slaves might be the only way to get one started.
