Does Little Upsilon Really Have A World Government?

I've been reading through the forums lately and keep coming across references to the NLUO World Government, as well as a federation called Hydra and something about a dispute they went through recently. Could someone please explain what these organisations are and what role they are currently playing on Little Upsilon? For the benefit of less experienced players, who are not familiar with all the details of how Little Upsilon's organisations work, and the state of play of Little Upsilon.

I own you, that will be all. You may go now.

Tom, don't you listen to the wicked old witch of Simcountry.

The NLUO was started by King Heziakah to get players to join together to co-operate in peace and prosperity, a very nice ideal. But, he went about it wrong, having very poor diplomacy and understanding of the game and its players. In fact things went so wrong that Hydra federation was formed to challenge NLUO and give players a freer option. NLUO were very oppressive. Anyways, to cut a long story short, after a few skirishes between them, NLUO backed down as Hydra far out powered them in experience and military hardware.

So, up to date, NLUO still exists and continues its mission to have everyone play under their rules, and so do Hydra, allowing players to play as they want. NLUO still have the ideals of unity I believe whereas Hydras existence is more to keep them on their toes and mentor anyone who wishes to play in their own way.

So that's about my view of it, impartial as I always am. Hope it enlightens you some.

that about sums it up.

The NLUO has NEVER been an oppressive organization, nor has it EVER had the means to be oppressive.

IN FACT, we're so non-oppressive, we even let traitors and defectors to the enemy return to the government with amnesty. Hydra now holds offices in the NLUO as well.

Oppressive, I think not. Where are you people dreaming this stuff up from?

yea says the oppressor lol

you mean the NLUO was defeated by Hydra and Hydra stepped in to assist with the rebuilding / restructuring of the NLUO, just as the United States did in Japan Post WWII

"yea"... says the traitor.... :s

no says the freedom fighter, / revolutionary!

It isn't just a reply of "NO". It's a "HELL NO"! ha ha ha

Put simply, there isn't a definite "world status" at the moment. Both sides are telling their side of the story, and refusing to let the other one have any merit. I'm leaning towards believing Hydra now, since everything NLUO puts out seems to be utter garbage. They seriously need a good PR rep, or perhaps even the expulsion of Heze.

Shouldn't have to wait long for a response in the form of a token Lord Lee "don't listen to them; they're wrong wrong wrong" statement or a King Heze "we love Wendy, she can make coloured letters" love poem.

LU is a world composed of many governments and many presidents.

Hmmmmm, well as far as I can gather from the debate I have seen unfold in front of my eyes right here, Little Upsilon politics is a variant of Earth between 1945-1989. When the world was dominated by two main factions and populated by many neutral nations, the Allies and the Communists. Except now it's the NULO, Hydra and unaligned neutral nations, I'm still yet to decide who is the USA and who is the USSR. In the meantime it seems to me that Little Upsilon is in the midst of a cold war and a monumental power struggle between the great federations of NULO and Hydra.

Tom, here is the difference.

Note: I am a member of both the NLUO government and of Hydra.

NLUO: Is not a fed. It aspires to be a world government but currently it is difficult to consider it as such as it lacks enough representation from around LU. There is some debate on how to further legitimize the government. I prefer a softer approach.

It does have a good number of new players to the game currently and I have volunteered to help teach the economic game to its members. Five of my articles are available on the treasury forum that can greatly help new players. I also have assisted some players personally in chat and through in-game messages.

Hydra: Is a federation and a very powerful one. Search the forum for the "Federation Stats" to see the top feds on LU. Hydra's strength is it has active veteran players who are very helpful in the war game.

If you are getting started on LU, I would recommend joining the NLUO and take advantage of the community and resources there. You can choose to leave your fed options open and will unlikely need one until war level 3.

Thank you Aries, and everyone else who has helped explain the State of play on Little Upislon. I would like to take this moment to declare my neutrality in the political struggles on Little Upislon. I will not (as yet) be joining any political group. I am however, happy to assist in the improvement of our planet and wish to work with other players and build relationships with Presidents and CEOs. For anyone who may wish to get in contact with me, My Nation is The United Nation of Progress and my Enterprise is Wealth Enterprise.

Yours Neutrally and Cooperatively, President & CEO Tom Fitzpatrick, I look forward to working with you all in the future.

Aries is correct in his assessment. I am the Secretary General of the gov. Aries is the Secretary of Treasury. So, don't be afraid to join.

What does Aries’s job of Secretary of the Treasury entail? As far as I know The NULO doesn’t have a financial account and budget, so what is Aries’s responsibility as Treasurer? Thanks everyone for your help.

Aries is a very smart economic player Tom, who spends a lot of time working things out. Reading his advice would probably be one of the best things you could do as a new player.

Why Hez dreams up these mad titles for people in the NLUO I have no idea, I guess he thinks it makes them sound more 'official'. So Aries being a good econ player is probably why he is called treasurer, previously it was Lord Lee... well, nuff said there.

You could also look to Josias of Hydra who would have the same title I suppose if Hydra had such a thing. Josias can also show you how to make your stuff very profitable.

My title is "Grand poo-bah of everything"

when your talking about Hydra, i'm actually not the best at anything, in Hydra. Their is some one better than me at any given thing.

You're too modest Josias.

PS. It's 'there' is, not their is... ;)

Shave a revolutionary? How natural

Seven Devils - is there something going on i should know about? i have my suspicious, untrusting snow white kitty-cat with me righ
Oww! she just clawed me, agh! I'm bleeding Seven Devils! Omg, I'm bleeding! Can you HELP ME? ;)
