A break from expansion (Little Upsilon)

Alright. I have been in constant warfare ever since I was president of RSFSR, and it has taken a heavy toll on my economy. I am now at war level 2 and I don't have the strength to break a C3's defenses right now, so I am taking a break from war in order to fix my economy, as well as build up the strength to defeat a C3 at war level 2. My "stop at nothing" expansion campaign has been successful, that is, until now. I control 4 countries at the moment, and I am happy...for now. Time to build my economy and harden my defenses in all my slave countries. Furthermore, my main country has been almost completely demilitarized except for 1 land defence division, 2 helicopter defense wings, and 2 interceptor defense wings (all of which, will be transferred to my other countries). I already control more countries than any other 1 leader within the Octania Banus region. After a long and bloody campaign, I have both gained and lost much. Now, after ignoring it for all this time, I have finally decided to follow the Church of Simcountry's guides for economic success.

u also might wanna consider raising ur indexs they should be as high from the get go

Oh, if you set a best price buying strategy for your corporations' supplies, I've changed the recommendation to a Time Based buying strategy that starts at 9% below market price and rises by 10% per month in response to the changing way the SC market works.

You know, I have been wondering about something. Instead of risking my empire's economy, suffering lots of casualties, and spending trillions on a war at level 2, do you think it might be cheaper to just buy the country for 200 GC? If I buy it, at least the country I get will be intact and not bombed back to the stone age.

Eh you know what? I am tired of war, so if theres any country I want, from now on, I will just buy it. I have been pulling all-nighters for the past week, conducting my wars to expand my empire and lack of sleep is taking a physical toll on me so if I want any more countries, I will simply buy them.

Here. I am offering my docking port on carina for 200 GC that I will use to buy my next country. I haven't managed to lease it to anyone and it hasn't brought me any profit so I am selling it.

No. There's no way it would be cheaper after everything is calculated. The average cost of repairing war damage (negative construction) plus the average cost of casualties I've experienced against even a War Level 7(!) C3 don't even come up to HALF of 200 GC. Plus, killing off all those lame C3 corporations can let you put in corporations of YOUR choice or let you get some private corporations in your country; one reason why I think killing all the corps is best.

On top of that, the experience is invaluable. Just being familiar with the war engine could give you an edge should you ever enter War Level 3. I don't know exactly how well the conquests went, but the best advice would be to plan your attacks out beforehand, concentrate on destroying Corporations, Fortifications, and Painting to get the 100 points (these will greatly reduce war damage since you aren't hitting the Cities or Capital or Towns which do asset damage), and make sure you aren't making any mistakes (like forgetting an air spotter or attacking with LRDs before Helicopters are gone) in order to reduce costs.

EDIT: Also, shouldn't take more than maybe 30 minutes to conquer a small C3 provided you planned things out right beforehand.

Ok. What resistance can I expect from a C3 at war level 2?

Could I get some contracts for offensive antiaircraft missiles from someone, if you would be so kind?

I believe the Quality of the wings is 100 Q and the garrisons is 130 Q. The garrisons will have the exact same composition you faced in the War Level 1 C3.

EDIT: The number of Fortifications may be different since I've noticed that the number varies depending on whether its a border country attacking or not and I don't remember whether this was for a border country or not. If possible, use a country to attack that does NOT border the C3 you want to take.

Oh its basically just more air defense and more land defense divisions?

Yeah. Land Defense Divisions shouldn't be attacked anyway since these don't need to be touched to win.

for the air defense, should I use anti aircraft batts or just fighters?

Fighters are more destructive so you lose less of your shields. They'll cost more initially, but you lose less money's worth of equipment in battle. Just be sure that you shield them. I use 710 PB + 1000 FP wings whenever I attack C3s. Drones work too, and actually, you'll lose less money's worth . . . just be sure that your weapons and ammo are like 200 Quality - this should allow you to finish off the air D without losing any fighters (but keep another set of drones in reserve just in case since I haven't used drones in a while and can't give much accuracy on their loss numbers - at the least, I know for a fact that 710 Bombers to shield your fighters is MORE than enough, once again 200 Q).

OAAMB are sub-par, but they will target the Helicopters first (allowing you to ignore Interceptors and just have LRDs with H-Artillery and H-Tanks OR Land Based Cruise to hit all the targets for you) when they attack defenses somewhere . . . so I'm not sure of the exact cost benefit relationship versus FP w/ PB or Drone shields.

Basically, I'm unsure of what's BEST. As long as you pick a strategy and stick with it, cutting every corner the strategy will let you, you'll do fine.

Apparently, I have a large number of navy fighters that I bought for one of my last wars but forgot about. Do navy fighters work well?

My strategy has always been to use OAAMB on the helicopters first and just ignore the interceptors. I would use 1000 OAAMB and 10000 missiles. I know that you should expect to lose about 400 batts just in the first blow against a C3 war level 1.

Hell, tell me what country you want and I'll take it and sell it to you for 50 GC.
