The main problem is that wind farm corporations have expenses and salaries throughout the entire year
The corporation has to continuously pay worker salaries maintenance costs and other operating expenses even when it is not making sales
Because the corporation only sells its wind farms once per year it can spend most of the year paying expenses without receiving enough sales revenue to cover those costs
By the time the yearly sale happens the corporation has already accumulated a full year of expenses and salaries
Allowing wind farm corporations to sell twice per year would give them revenue more frequently and help them cover their ongoing expenses and salaries
The wind farms are profitable but the corporations producing them need a better sales cycle to become consistently profitable
When I say only 1 in 10 corporations are profitable I mean that out of every 10 wind farm corporations only about 1 corporation is actually making a profit while the other 9 are operating at a loss
This shows that the problem is not just poor management or individual corporations
If 90 percent of the corporations are losing money there is likely a problem with the way the industry is structured
The once per year sales cycle combined with having to pay salaries maintenance and other expenses throughout the year makes it extremely difficult for most corporations to stay profitable
