Defense (Kebir Blue)

Hey ive been trying to raise my defense index so that i could get to level 2, but after ive bought alot of defensive weapons, the index just stayed the same. Does anyone know what i should do to raise the index?

Give it time the DI will not Jump up instantly.. but should climb over a few days time
