W3C - Cash $ US Awards

We are considering the possibility to add Cash awards to the best players each month.
The cash awards will be given to the best 3 players in each world, in addition to the existing awards.

We intend to introduce this feature as an experiment for a number of months.
We may decide to stop it after a tryout period.
we may decide to continue.

Initial awards will be:

First award $ 50
Second award $ 30
Third award $ 20

We may decide to increase these amounts at a later stage in case the feature will remain as part of Simcountry.

There will be several conditions:

1. You must be a full member
2. You must reach a certain game level OR a certain war level.
3. If qualifying by war level, the account must show an increase in war level in the month the award is won.

If one of the players ending in one of the 3 top places in a world does not comply with the cash awards conditions, the missed award will not be awarded at all.

We will publish the exact conditions before these awards become available.
Conditions may be changed from one month to another but will remain along these lines.
Amounts of awards may increase.

Personally with the way the points are calculated now I think this is a horrible idea.

Unless te level requirement is really high it's more efficient for a lot of the 'veteran' players to just start a new account, cash in and start a new account again. Right now there is such a severe point penalty for getting a gold coin reward that it's just to hard to get back up there and have a change of winning any sort of cash reward.
On the other side, a very high level barrier will make it really hard for new players to have any change at winning something.

When was the last time that a SuperSoldier, Aries, Bilderberg or any other player that's been around for years got back in 1st place in a world?

Aries once developed a pretty good ranking system, for different power factors.

Yup he sure did.

My advice for what’s it worth is to first fix the ranking system.

Would be neat to see how we all rank in different areas. And to use a system without resetting scores. Not necessarily related to rewards either.

We must prevent the same players from winning each month.

The awards system is discussed many times in the past and as it is now, it does allow more players to win awards.

This is what we currently have and it will be changed if we have a much much better one.

This has nothing to do with the cash awards.

Cash awards will be given to the players who occupy the first 3 spots on the current list of players, computed by the currently running ranking procedure.

If we change the system in the future, the awards will be given according to the then available ranking system.

I meant GC rewards. Either way, it was just a suggestion.

Then simply don't let a person win a reward more then 1 per 6-12 months. It really isn't that difficult.

I'm aware that the score system has been discussed many times before. I'm just pointing out that the best way for somebody to win one of these awards is to start over cash in and start over again. It's either that or you've got to make the requirements so incredibly high that hardly anybody without a ton of experience can reach them even if they want to.
