Purchasing C3 countries

The purchase price of C3 countries was 30 gold coins (down from 300 gold coins some time ago).

There are however large differences between c3 countries, mainly in the number of natural resources available in the country.
Countries with many natural resources have a much better potential to become very profitable.

We have now changed the purchase price of C3 countries and it depends on the number of natural resources that are available.

C3 countries with 10 or less natural resources are available for 30 gold coins as before.

C3 countries with more, or many more natural resources, are available for a price in gold coins, equal to the number of natural resources available x 3.

Example: if a C3 country has 25 natural resources available, cost price will be 75 gold coins. (25 x 3)

Corporations offering products on the market

The numbers of products offered on the market and their status is showing on each corporation page.
The numbers were rounded to show whole products.

The numbers now show with a higher precision.

As a result, you can now see the number of products offered and the number remaining, as a fraction.

There was a misunderstanding recently about these numbers and as we explained, it was caused by the rounding procedure that made any fractions >0.5 as a whole number (1).

Considering lots of natural resources are garbage that run out in <100 years, I don't really agree with this change. Sounds like any established empire will just need to conquer any new subjects instead of buy them.

Just ran through everything. Took a good look at multiple countries and the cost of buying each one. The range is 180gc to 340gc+. From what I saw not a single country, was anywhere near worth the cost. To make a return on your initial investment would take a real year+. Not to mention the real cash it would take to build up. This should of been put on the form for open debate. I hope this is not the beginning of the end. However the war option as mentioned by (Hern) will work. That maybe unfortunate for newer players.

We have looked into many countries with varying numbers of natural resource corporations and the income differences are very large.

The profits of corporations producing natural resources are high and numbers are increasing even much higher.

We expect these corporations to become major resources of income for their owners.

we have said so for some time, number have increased already and the coming weeks will show where it goes.

Yeah alot of players have differing opinions on this.

Personally I think the change is great, countries were too cheap and it encouraged purchasing rather then playing the war game. The more players with greater war experience the better.

natural resources corporations make a lot of money for their owners.

3 billion of profit each month, can amount to 3 Trillions to 10 trillion in the lifetime of the corporations.

one gold coin buys 25 billion.
one such corporation could earn 100 or 400 times more.

On top of that, these corporations will become even more profitable.

In general, these corporations can make a country become very strong.
Building an army will be much easier in a country that has many of these corporations.

That seems fair.

I agree, if you can build the corps and hold on to the country you can make a good profit. Hard to do for a new players. Us old guys no problem.

It is aimed at full members who have large assets and such corporations help them sustain their countries long term.

I understand your reasoning. Lets look at my situation many of my countries have already depleted most of there natural resources. Some only have two resources left. Eventually they dry up, as they should.
I can go to war and take countries however it takes considerable amount of time and effort to rebuild before they become profitable. Much easier to just buy a new one.

Two questions.
1) If I fight a c3 war and win will the natural resources change,or do they stay the same as if I bought it?

Last thought.
I would like to see new members in the first six months be able to purchase countries at half the cost. (New players make lots of mistakes)
Money is not the issue for me, gold coins not a factor. Retaining new players, that is my concern.
You guys are doing a great job. You need to make tough decisions, you need to make money for the game to survive. It's understandable.

I'm perplexed by your comment, please explain your reasoning. How is spending more gold coins to purchase a country a great addition? I believe making mining corporation more profitable that's good, but the cost increase is significant.
All will not agree on everything, but that's good. I like the direction the game is going. I like the fact we can ask questions and not worry about repercussion.

As a newer player I bought my second country with gold coins for 30. Then I went to buy my 3rd country with gold coins and noticed it would cost around 230 gold coins and thought better just to take it over with a military, and that's what I did. Gold coins in this game are worth keeping, but the cash isn't so going forward when I want to expand my empire I'll spend the money on my military and take over a country rather than spending roughly 20 USD on buying one country. It just makes it harder on a newbie to expand cause they might not want to be involved in the war game at all and might be discouraged that it takes around 5-8 trillion dollars building the military, using it and losing it then taking over the country having to spend trillions more on rebuilding. My guess is hardly anyone will buy countries for 250 gold coins. Just my two cents.

I agree I went to buy a country yesterday and saw the price. I must've missed that posted so instead I just decided to stay where I am for now. Lol not paying over 100 gold coins for a new country. my two cents as well.

Three times now I have purchased well developed countries from other players for just over 100gc.

Where is E_O? He will build you a country to your own spec and sell it to you if you're not a complete dickhead.

if you conquer a country or purchase it, The natural resources are remain unchanged.
Once the country has these resources, they stay there until they are used in a new corporation.

You get most natural resources if you buy/conquer a country with many.
Build up time is not so long and you become profitable quite quickly.

New discovery rounds will also add new natural resources to all countries.

In the mean time, natural resources profitability increased again and will increase more.

We think that natural resources are, and will become even more significant.

Owning a country with many, in some cases 100+, is a long term guarantee for excellent earning.

More rounds of discovery will take place and natural resources will be added to all countries.

as of now, there are many unused resources.
conquering a country, even for new players is quite easy and as long as these are available, much cheaper than buying one.

I think that players have many choices here.
buy a country, free or from another player or conquer one.
find out which ones are good candidates, with many many natural resources and start building it up.

I have a country with 100+ natural resources corporations, they will run for a long time and the country is a major earner.
