One is more enlightened when emotions are ignored but one is not guilty when respecting them.

Even the death of one single child is awful and should be prevented on both sides. No child should ever be ever exposed to war and aggression of any kind.

In the mean time, Hamas is directing its missiles against Israeli population for 8 years and makes life in the south impossible. They are clear about their intentions. Kill all Israelis.
Hamas does not recognize the right of Israel to exist and does not accept agreements by the Palestinian authority with Israel. It refuses to stop terror attacks against Israel. While the defensive fence made suicide attacks into Israel impossible, they found a new way with their missiles.
In the past weeks they killed 80 Gaza supporters of the Palestinian authority because they are against Hamas.
Israel has no choice. It has never directed its fire against children but Hamas is hiding behind kids. Look at some of the videos showing how Hamas members hide behind kids and even forces them to be close to them because they know that the Israelis will then hold their fire.

If Hamas stops, there will be peace.
If Israel stops, there will be no Israel.

All of these Israel haters are shouting and shed tears but it is not about the kids. They realize that Israel is here to stay and much stronger than they have thought.

Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East.
There has never been any war between democracies. Democracies hate wars.

In the mean time, Israeli doctors are treating Palestinian kids in Israeli hospitals and would want to have many more but Hamas does not let them go.
In the past years, the Peres peace center brought an average of 1100 sick kids from Gaza to treatment in Israel.
At the same time, Hamas leaders are hiding under the main hospital in Gaza in bunkers the Israeli have build in the past, for security of patients and staff. A very safe place indeed.
They have money for missiles but no money for medicines, and no money for bunkers for the population to hide.
Israeli kids hide in shelters. this is why casualties are low.
Medicines in Gaza today come from Arab countries and Turkey, delivered into Israeli airports and delivered each day, along with Israeli food supplies in hundreds of trucks into the Gaza strip.
When you discuss proportionality:
If there is a murderer in your house, how many policemen should be sent? One?
Israel will keep protecting the kids and use any force needed to stop the missiles and uproot Hamas.
From 80 missiles a day three weeks ago, it was 13 missiles yesterday, lower range and diminished precision because all calibrated launching pads have been destroyed.
The commander of the missile unit in Gaza had to fire the missiles himself because his fighters fled home. He was killed while doing so.
You probably have to choose:
Hamas-Hezbollah-Iran- Taliban and the Muslim brotherhood
or:
Western democracies that might one day convince the "reasonable" Arab nations to choose for peace and close a reasonable peace agreement with Israel.

Hector, it does not matter. Realize that people like David Walker and Poobah and Almohad do not care about what will work or about facts. They care about their own political agenda. They care about arguing with you and with anyone who might not blindly agree with them. The one statement of yours that is so correct and so meaningful - 'If Hamas stops, there will be peace. If Israel stops, there will be no Israel.' - means nothing to them. Their arguments and actions show their hypocrisy. They say they favor peace above all else, particularly Poobah. Rather then shout out and support your statement, they argue with it and about it. Logically this means that they favor the destruction of Israel over peace, just like the terrorists Israel is fighting now. Just like the Palestinians who are so 'innocent' that they allowed those terrorists into power in the first place. Always be aware you are writing for those who have only passing interest and casual knowledge of the situation rather than to try and convince the close-minded people I mentioned. It is important to counter their propaganda as you will never change their mind.

The Hamas does not let anyone leave Gaza.

The Israeli army made thousands of phone calls into homes in Gaza, warning them and asking them to leave before they attacked close to that house.

Instead, in some places, they brought more women and childeren to the roof.

They take children onto their roofs because they are too scared to let them onto the streets. They need to stretch their legs and get out side. They have been sitting in a dark room for 24hrs a day for 3 weeks.

As for Hamas wont let them leave. BS. Israel has closed the crossings. The whole of Gaza is getting bombed. Where do you think they can go? There is no where to hide. As I said, all they can do is what Londoners did in the Blitz, just sit it out and hope your not next to die. Except the Londoners were able to evacuate the children and they had bomb shelters.

Gaza is cut off from the rest of the world, it's one of the most populated places in the world. They were launching the rockets from outside the cities until Israel started it's offensive. Now if any Hamas fighter even steps out into open land they will kill him before he even has time to put his rocket down, let alone fire it.
The reason why Israel closed the crossings was to stop the suicide bombers. The only effective weapon Hamas had.
Israel knew that Hamas would have to go into the cities to fight, for in the open Hamas would be cut down.
So why did'nt Israel let the Children out?

Easier to kill them when they can't fight back.

When the US bombs a wedding in Afghanistan and 50 people die, mostly kids, they call it collateral damage.

Hamas said many times that the winner will be the Muslim Womb, producing many kids who will fight and win. The Arabs want to die and the Israelis want to live. This is what they say.

One more of their top leaders went to meet his creator today. Good riddance. He was among other things, the contact with the Iranian Republican Guards. The saviors of the dignity of mankind.

Once these people start loving their own kids more than they hate the Israeli kids we may start to have some hope.
