What's the final outcome?

That question has been asked for millenniums. Different belief systems have various answers. Therefore each individual must study and find out which system or set of beliefs fits the current system of things correctly.

Or continue to put faith in a system that has failed ever since the beginning of human history.

I'm curious about this Hegelian dialect that you say has been implemented since the beggining of human history? are you saying there has never been any real changes throughout human history? when does human history begin do you suppose? neolithic revolution?

There most certainly have been changes throughout history. The point Im making is that in most countries, especially ones that have what they call 'democratic' governments, is that those of the public think they have made those changes.

The reality is that through various types of social engineering and propaganda the public has been pushed into a largely predetermined course. Although along the course that has been preselected for us we are given minor choices that can possibly change our direction ever so slightly we are still headed in the same general direction.

Here is another example:

If you and I were in a car at a stoplight, Im driving and I said we are going to McDonalds and I ask you 'which way do you want to go'? You say 'right'. So I turn right. It might take us a few minutes longer or less to arrive there but guess where we are still going? McDonalds! But you were given a choice, or so you thought.

With politics and most times religion humans think that they have been given choices.... but they are all still 'going to McDonalds'! Obviously this example is an over simplification but I think you get the principles in play here.

You have asked 'What is the final outcome'? and 'When does human history begin'? Tjose question can/do have religious implications and although Im happy to discuss religion Im not sure others are willing.

The hegelian dialectic means something else. The actual meaning is that a proposition and its antithesis resolve themselves to create a higher truth in synthesis with the process being repeated throughout history (short version). It's one of those old trash systematic philosophies that expects reality to conform to uber-simplistic ideas.

In the context of politic philosophy, I'm only aware of Marxism actually using this idea... and that was to justify communism as the scientifically inevitable "final outcome". The twentieth century proved otherwise in a variety of ways... not least because it was never wealthy, capitalistic societies that turned to communism.

The 'proposition' and its 'antithesis' is exactly what we are presented with. We are given a choice or proposition, ie.... Republican. Then given its 'antithesis' ie.... Democrat. But the final outcome has been largely determined already. As far as a 'higher truth' being the result is debatable. There are of course many more examples of the hegelian dialectic than the 'Republican/Democrat example, this is just one of the more obvious.

Yes, Marxism did publicly embrace the hegelian dialectic. The same system is being employed now in many parts of the world including and unfortunately the United States.

Id agree that the hegelian dialectic is an old trash philosophy but that dosen't mean its no longer being used.

Then your point of wealthy capitalistic societies not 'turning' to it is true to some extent, but then again whats happening to the 'wealth' of the US (17T debt) and capitalism with the huge and increasing amount of government regulations? General wealth is declining rapidly and capitalism is crowded out with government regulations. It has become where only the rich get richer and the poor and middle class getting poorer. This is one of the results of the hegelian dialectic being used.
