OK

Tom. It has now been over a week since you told me the problem with the monthly coins for level 7, would be resolved "with in several days".

I still have received no response of any kind.

I also asked...

When will levels 8-10 be implemented?

If it's not implemented, then why do you list the requirements for it, and why do I get this message?

Congratulations. It seems like you meet the requirements for Game Level 8.
You will move to Level 8 within several hours.

The Simcountry community passed a vote about levels 8-10, which was never acknowledged. However the nonexistent index has been removed and I now exceed all of the requirements.

With all due respect. The only part of level 8 that is not implemented, is the part where you pay us gold coins for it.

I have not received any response to those questions.

I'm running out of patience. I check my email and spam file daily and nothing has been sent. So if you could please respond ASAP, It would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. should levels 8-10 be implemented imm... DisgruntledSCPayer Sep 23, 2009 Open 26/1

I did a poll on this a couple months ago. It passed but was never acknowledged. Maybe it wasn't clear enough.

In the first poll I mentioned the nonexistent index which made it impossible to meet the requirements, and it has since been removed.

However, I exceeded the requirements for level 8 and I got a message saying I would move to level 8 in a few hours. Well I'm still waiting and it's been over a week now.

When I questioned the GM about it, all he said was levels 8-10 are not implemented yet. When I questioned it further I got no response.

So this poll is asking the specific question, should levels 8-10 be implemented immediately.

Honestly the only part that is not implemented yet is the part where they pay us gold coins for it.

So please vote yes. If you want levels 8-10 implemented.

Vote no. If you feel it is fair of the GM to falsely advertise levels that he won't let you achieve.

Thanks
MoP

Tom. that is the second vote that passed on this subject.

Just thought I would copy it before it got deleted like the last one.

I sent You another email, and still no response.

We feel ya Player! Hang in there.

We promised an answer but it took some time to get into it.

We have looked into the account and the situation around the game levels and the requirements:

Game level 7 was reached on June 19 and 300 gold coins were added correctly.
10 gold coins per month, on July 19, August 19 and September 19 were not added to the account due to an error.
We have now added 30 gold coins to the account for these two months.

As to level 8:

According to the documentation you need a development index at 75 for level 8.
The development index is not implemented yet and level 8,9 and 10 ate currently impossible to reach.

The message on the level window is wrong as it does not specify the requirement of the development index.

This error will be fixed ASAP.

When the development index is implemented, these game levels will become available.

Wow. I didn't realize we're supposed to take the game documentation's word over what in-game play tells us. This will be interesting.

This is the story so far. I thought everyone should see how things get handled by Tom, the Gamemaster.

Sorry for the jumbled mess, where the level 8 requirements are listed. It was fine on the email that I sent Tom. This forum jumbles everything when you cut and paste from your country pages. However It still shows that I meet all requirements listed for level 8, and also shows the message stating "Congratulations. It seems like you meet the requirements for Game Level 8.
You will move to Level 8 within several hours."

Subject: Problems with level 7 and 8

Dear Gamemaster.

I am writing you in regards to problems I have encountered.

1. I have been at level 7 since June 19th, and I have never received the 10gcs per month that comes with it.

2. I have met and exceeded all requirements for level 8 since Sept 7th. However all I get is this message.

Congratulations. It seems like you meet the requirements for Game Level 8.
You will move to Level 8 within several hours.

It's been 6 days now, and still no level 8.

So any information regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

I love this game and appreciate the improvements you are making. I really like the idea of interplanetary trading.

However the main thing that keeps me, as well as many others playing, is the challenge of making the next level.

Thank You for your attention to this matter.

For level 8 you need a development index at 75.

You do not have a development index at 75,

In fact, the development index is not implemented yet and nobody can reach level 8.

The requirements for level 8 are described in the simcountry documentation and

Require the development index.

The message on the level window in your country is wrong as it does not specify the requirement

Of the development index.

We will fix this error ASAP.

So for now, no level 8,9, or 10.

We intend to implement them but there are so many other urgent features and requests.

I am sorry for the 10 monthly coins.

This too is an error that we will fix ASAP.

For the time being, please drop me a mail if you do not receive these 10 coins next month and I will

Put them on your account.

For you to quote what it says in the game docs, that is just ridiculous. How many other things in the game docs are correct? That thing needs some serious updating.

As to the developmental index. If you would just create it. I am sure if I don't already meet the requirement, I would be able to do so with a little work.

There have been 2 separate votes that have been passed on this subject.

The first. Specifically asked for the removal of the developmental index. Although it was never acknowledged in the vote news, the index was removed from the requirements for level 8, shortly there after. At that point I saw I could, with some work achieve level 8

The second. I started after you said level 8 was not implemented yet. It specifically asked that levels 8-10 be implemented immediately. This one is still open even thought it was supposed to close 2 days ago. It is currently 27/1.

And now you bring back the developmental index?

You have been saying for way to long, "We intend to implement them but there are so many other urgent features and requests." honestly how long would it take? When will it be done? Never?

I await your response.

MoP

We have documented in the past that level 8 to 10 are not available.

The development index depends on features that are not part of the game yet and will take longer to implement.
It will take quite some time befor these levels are implemented.

We do plan to change the level system when the game missions are introduced.
The number of levels will increase to a large multiply of the current number.
Existing levels will remain but they may be divided into smaller steps.
Current levels will also be supplemented with many new levels that will depend on the completion of specific missions.

We plan to add the missions ASAP but will implement the space stations product markets and space shuttles before.

I will give Tom credit where it is due.

I have received the 10gcs for July. In a very timely manner, after I sent him an email. Although at that point they were already 3 months late.

Thanks Tom.

There is no development index so there are no levels 8 to 10.

I am sorry about the error it will be fixed.

Accusing us of nonsense will not help much.

The gamemaster

My response.

Nonsense?

I ask you again, how many other things in the game docs are correct?

Further more. I would have to say that something that pops up right on my country page, that I use on a daily basis to check level requirements. That "advertised" very clearly, no need for the nonexistent development index, along with a message clearly stating "I meet the requirements". Would supersede what is buried in, the seriously outdated game docs.

Now maybe this is all just a mistake on your part.

However, you provide a service here. It is a very common practice in the service industry, that you have to pay for your mistakes.

As I have stated before. I spent a considerable amount of time and gold coins, to achieve what was "advertised" , right on my country page. As an attainable level.

I feel I should be compensated, in some way for your mistake.

Also I have not accused you of any "nonsense".

I have only been stating the facts.

Thanks.
MoP

Maybe the reason it took so long for Tom to respond about levels 8-10 is because they had to update the game docs first.

Hmmm...

Thank you everyone who voted for the most recent poll I started regarding levels 8-10.

I really do appreciate your support.

It passed 27/1. Which by the way is the largest margin any poll has passed by in recent memory. I wonder who the 1 was? I wonder if his name starts with a T? LOL

Unfortunately, just like the first poll I started, it was deleted without any acknowledgment.

Oh well. At least Tom hasn't started deleting my forum posts.... Yet.

Oh yeah Tom now that we have your attention... fix the spelling thing also, please, where 'to' should be 'too'. That also was accepted by vote by a landslide some time ago.

Go ahead and tell Gamemaster what you think Player

look mop or whatever you wanna be called we dont want to seem disrepectful but can you give it a rest now please, how many times you have to be told levels eight to ten aint yet here,. running a blooming website aint easy you think it is try it yourself. ohhhhhhh and guess what..... well you'll find out please all players be blooming patient.

Kudos to Tom for even being available to us on this level. In what other game have you seen that?

Recognize also that not every problem presented to GM is necessarily a small issue. What if someone was informing GM of an exploit(cheat)? In that case one would be able to work their cheat for... (how long was it before you got a response Player?)
So, GM should at least be aware immediately. What if someone was hacking accounts and canceling countries? We couldn't have THAT going on for a week. I'm not suggesting he jump on the forum to do it either, email is better, there's no reason for any of this stuff to be public.

Eliminate levels 8-10.

@Keno

I intend no disrespect as well. However... If you don't like my thread you don't have to read it.

@Solomon

I understand that Tom has a lot of issues to deal with. He does a good job most of the time. However... Everyone needs to understand I have a very valid argument here and Toms excuse that it was an error sorry. Just doesn't cut it. I deserve to be compensated for my lost time and gold coins which were wasted due to their "error".
I agree that most of the time these things should be handled privately. However, when the GM does not treat his customers fairly, then I feel that the community has a right to know.

@Laguna

I agree. They obviously have no intention on ever implementing them anyways.

I'm not asking for level 8. I'm just asking that I be compensated in some way.

Just throw me a Fu**ing bone Tom!!!

I will post a detailed time line leading up to this, including only info valid to the real issue here. I have gotten off course in the heat of my argument.

Absolutely, I've ranted about this game being more professional more than one time. I think cleaning it up should come before any expansions. Leveling, documentation, war engine flaws etc first. I've given Tom a pretty hard time about it.

-and not to minimize your problem but the bigger problem here is the GM even being aware that there was a problem for the period you experienced.

I also agree with you in that you believe we have a right to know, that's your choice. My issue is when you were FORCED to take it here and yell it from the roof tops because of no response to emails. It should have remained your choice.

We do give Tom a hard time, but it's for the good.

MOP, don't you make a butload of GC from your countries? why are you making this much show over some coins?

You haven't gained anything this is true, but what have you really lost? Nothing, Drop it already. Until you really lose something, it is pretty naive to think they are going to drop everything they are doing just to add something that cant be done in time responsibly to satisfy you. Try a bit more patience, or level down until they put in the new levels.

@Inanna

"MOP, don't you make a butload of GC from your countries? why are you making this much show over some coins?"

I do alright. However, I don't think you realize how much it costs to keep an empire this size going. I constantly have to buy population for all 10 of my countries because they are all over 100M. Not to mention the cost to defend countries this large. Also I spent considerable time and gold coins to make it this large to meet the requirements posted on my country page.

It's also about how Tom just brushes off the mistakes they make, regardless of the consequences it has on players like you and me. Once I post the timeline It will be clearer.
