Holiday Traditions and What Nots

Sooooooooooooooooooo as we approach another holiday season, what are some of the things that you do with your family and friends that make it special each year and anything special planned for this year? or are you just Mr/Ms. Bah Humbug???? ha ha ha

What was your favorite childhoodl toy or what was what you always wanted but you NEVER got?

Post anything holidayish here!!!! You may also post your Dear Sim Santa Wish Lists here. Remember, Sim Santa IS watching, listening....he is all knowing!

I like the tamales.

I never got my Harley heritage softtail yet but I'm working on her indoors again this year.

Lawdy, thanks Scarlet, reminding me of Tex-Mex grub, something it's nigh on impossible to get here.

No 'special' trips to the UK planned this year Jan?

No, Crafty, I think that chapter of my life has ended. I wish Blueserpent well in whatever he is facing in his life and much happiness and joy. Last Christmas was by far a Christmas to remember. It was so great to see some of your holiday culture and what you have at a traditional holiday meal. Blue was a fantastic cook and host. I even got to see the lanterns that light up the sky on New Years. One day, when I figure out how, I will share some of that trip with all of you in photos and a link so you can all hear Rob singing. Maybe one day he will come back.

Another special Christmas was with my husband Tim back when we first married. It was snowing outside, and as all of you know, I LOVE snow. There was a knock at our front door and we opened it to Christmas Carolers, a small group from a church across the way. I hadn't seen caroling since I was a kid. And of course all my Christmases with my family and friends. Those are by far the most precious holidays of my lifetime.

My wife and I always build a snow sculpture. We like to do characters from our Childhood, like Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny, and even some more modern ones, like Clifford the Big Red Dog. Then we always sit outside with our radio blasting holiday tunes, drinking cocoa and having fun with the neighbors.

We used to make snow cream...... now you are taking your life into your own hands if you eat snow. ha ha ha

Crafty and Scarlet, what is the tex mex thing over there? I've never had mexican food for Christmas. I see you, Crafty, eating duck and plum pudding and the likes. lol

I don't know that Tex-Mex is particularly Xmasy, but I do often have a craving for it. It's not the same, making your own.

I suppose it is a great change after eating all da turkey!!!

I always eat tamales at Christmas. I'm Mexican though so I imagine that has a lot to do with it.

I like mexican food. I like all things spicy.

unfortunately I do not celebrate the mainstream holidays is why I did not come to post in this thread. I don't want to be a scrooge in your thread, and mess up the warm and fuzziness.

this is a thread for everyone, hezzy. da season is many things to many people, and i welsome you here. come have a seat by the fire and sip this hot cocoa. here, let me take your shoes.... he he he now prop up your feet and relax.

Don't you touch my Clifford, Hezzy!

thank you Kiss. I am touched.

I was in Mexico a few days ago, never imagined you were from Mexico, Scarlet.

The food is very good yes.

The best part of the holidays is spending time with loved ones, indulging excessively in food and drink.....and indulging excessively in food and drink. In that order.

+1 for the Mexican food. Dunno why, but it also surprises me that Scarlet is a beaner.

Yeah Hezzy, dont let your religion or beliefs exclude you from the spirit of the holiday season. Watch out for Loreleis hot cocoa though...yuck!!! (I think she uses rats milk).

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Need only guard your shoes. I collect them and use them as weapons.

The wife and I have Baileys with coffee for 2 weeks everyday over the holidays

That is nice, Keto. Great moments!

I spend a little time, trying to convince my parents that there isn't a reason to celebrate a religious holiday they don't practice, to eventually budge spent a couple days at their house. We exchange gifts mine tend to be much much more extravagant for them letting me live there for 22 years. Last year I got them a 20 thousand dollar rental property. so this year I'm getting em socks. Then usually hitting up the bars to make all the lonely girls feel better about themselves.

I should imagine meeting you would make all the lonely blokes feel better about themselves too.

Oh yes spreading hope and adventure can help out loneliness quite well. But no worries if I met you I'd feel great and remeniscent that I'm not made of ticky tacky and I could still think all the same. =)

So Drewcakes, when you gonna buy me something????

Drew, you can't even put a coherent sentence together, let alone manage joined up thinking.
