GC losing value? (Kebir Blue)

I remember when 1 Gold Coin could get you 315B!!!!

I remember paying 415B$..i wasn't aware gold coins lost value unless people are just selling at lower prices.

The GC exchange rate was 1 coin = 460B from September 2009 thru August 2010. Then a slow steady slid was institued by the gamemaster.

I started playing in September 2009. Perhaps a more senior player can give the exchange rate before that time.

36USD = 360GC

Game master either give use more Gold Coins for our cash or make are cash worth more

Side note Almost all corps need High Tech workers now...What happened to corps that used no high tech workers i used them to balance workers

They changed it because Maestro in his infinite wisdom thought it would be best for his non-warring self to to gain a further advantage in the game by continually begging for cheaper war protection.

depends on the market. right now more people are wanting cash for coins.

The purchase price for free countries has gone up accordingly from 100GC to 180.

180GC @ 310SC$ = 56T

it should be less at least 50GC

50GC @ 310SC$ = 16T

which is more relistic

180GC for a C3 i can get a better deal on a 50M pop country for less

If ppl worked out how to make cash in empires, there wouldnt be this, give me this, give me that to make up for their lack of game knowledge.

The docs don't need to be updated, they need to be replaced.

A simple outline consisting of what is already the main part of the docs, including weapons and war, explanation of war levels, game levels, economic basics, how and why things are calculated like salaries/costs/and so on, and a frequently asked questions section should suffice. I don't know how busy tommi is but I figured since he knows all of these things and isn't available to answer these questions daily, he could in his spare time prepare such documentation and explanation of the game mechanics so that people won't be stuck in a loop or forced to trust what may be faulty assumptions about the game.

This alone would go a very long way in helping newbie and veteran player alike and grant clarity on some game issues otherwise left secret.

New Docs could one of the greatest single improvements in the game and it seems easier to accomplish than most of these additions intended to help new players... and hopefully keep them.

Gc values manipulation, added frivolous bonuses and the like only enable a desire to not learn the game. I will add that the complexity of the game itself(while not inherently a bad thing but a reason most people like it) and lack of simple explanation procedures, calculations, and processes go a long way in promoting that attitude. People wanna enjoy the game not break their heads with unanswerable questions. The knowledge of how to grow and maintain a decent economy will have many times the worth and retaining power than any bonuses. This should be basic documentation and it shouldn't be up to the players to repeatedly pass this information along. It would be nice, but it gets tiring.

I'll preface my statement by saying how much I do love playing simcountry. It does provide a challenging complexity that I adore. Im just trying to figure out if this game is based upon someones economic theory and it's our job to try to subscribe to that theory to succeed in this game or is it versatile enough to experiment with certain aspects to also succeed. Basically is there just one formula for success in this game?

I don't mind the GC losing value because as we all know the value of gold does fluctuate, my only concern was if this was done in that regard and does it plan to rise in value again.
As far as the documentation from a newbies perspective I did find it a bit overwhelming and unorganized. I think a simple outline as Honey suggested would be proper and benefit newbies more. Also, more concise tutorials would be helpful.

As far as retaining players I am at the threshold of letting my account expire permanently. I think this game needs a balance to all that scientific stuff with some creative additions to the game. I used to play farmville ( I know!!) and was attracted to it mainly because of the interaction with my crop development. I would like to see a more creative constructive hands on approach to schools, hospitals, etc. Like urban planning, the ability to pick the structure and architecture of a building. I think this would appeal to a broader spectrum of players and relief the bordem that can occur from just building up indexes.

Anyways, that just my 2 cents of SC.

Making profit can be done a multitude of ways.Actually making the maximum is driven by doing things a certain way.
The information is virtually all out there in the forums.


Wendy, i have just been having a chat with Tommi. Updating the docs is being done but i guess it just takes time.The war section has had an overhaul upto now.

The complexity of the game isnt that hard to break down if ppl read what info has been provided in the forums and are prepared to watch and learn what happens in their empires.But yes, i agree a basic understand is needed from the documentation provided so ppl stay. The more indepth things can be learnt later.

Well, there is progress.

So, today I took a little micro approach look-around at the game and... I'll bet GCs will continue to devalue down to 120B per coin. My best bet is 180B per coin, which is still 100B less than what Willard is selling for.

i can't wait. i guess i should hold my cash for a while.
