We have decided to develop an automation function that was on our mind for a long time and was not created for lack of development capacity.

we now have some more space in that area and are able to develop this function.

The function will allow players to enter rules that will guide the Simcountry engine to execute commands for them, once or once in a game month or once in a real day or a real week.

These commands will help the player do some tasks that require a lot of clicking.

Examples:

1. Buy 100.000 units of services for my country "name" on Little Upsilon and raise the quantity of the product in the country to 1.000.000 units.
do this every game month.

This will create a purchase order. not more than one, and will execute if the country can pay for the order. It will keep doing so until the country has 1.000.000 units of services. It will only execute if the country did not exceed its purchasing space for the current game month.

2. Sell 50.000 units of electric power from my country "name" on Kebir Blue and reduce the amount of product in the country to 200.000.

The command will execute if the sale space for the month is not yet fully used.

3. Transport 100.000 units of strategic weapon maintenance units from country "name" on Little Upsilon to space station "name". Do this once.

The command will execute if the products are available, a space center and cargo shuttles are available and can start transports and only if the space station has space that is reserved for that user.

4. Transfer 20.000 units of Metadium from country "name" on Tiny Atlas, to country "another name" on White Giant. Do this once a week.

The command will only run if "everything" is available in terms of products, money, cargo shuttle capacity.

The function will present the player with a form to specify the details.
commands will remain there until deleted and ones that finished running will remain available for a restart if needed.

players will be able to enter multiple commands.
we think of 50 active commands per player or maybe a different number.

Is this something you are developing to run automatically until terminated once started?

Or, is this just for TA?

1. Isn't this already addressed with a country trade strategies? Or am I missing the intention?

2. Good idea, esp. for countries with things like wind farms.

3. Unless there is a way to do this multiple times, or say once a month automatically, I fail to see how it's any different than what we do now.

4. Good idea for those on TA. Would be nice if it applied to all worlds.

This would be a time saver, I look forward to testing it.

A player will be able to create a set of such commands that will run all the time to save time and clicking on all worlds.
Some could be entered to run once but then will remain on the list and can be restarted or updated to run every day.
Other rules will periodically until suspended or removed.

It will be very helpful on TA but also on the other worlds.
It will reduce the clicking in moving products between worlds and help in keeping strategic stocks at a desired level in countries and enterprises.

There is no need for this to supply corporations or countries with the products they consume. The current mechanism is sufficient.

I love it! I was eventually going to start writing Tamper Monkey scripts to do this exact thing!

Can you give us an update on this, Andy?

I have no update as to when exactly this will materialize.

we are in the process of improving the user interface of Simcountry in general and while at it,
introduce changes that will make it easier to develop new features more quickly.

Once this is in place, other projects will be moved forward and will be developed more quickly.

Example:

we have completely replaced the Forum software.
The new forum is fully functional and changes and improvements are now much easier to implement.
