A New Forum Application installed today

A first version of a new forum application is installed today.
The new version replaces a package that was licenced by us some years ago and for which we did not have the source code.

The new package is ours and it is now quite easy for us to make any change we want, fix errors and add features.
Most probably, there will be some issues with this new forum and there will be some bugs to fix.
We will be happy with any comment you make.

In the coming two weeks, we will collect responses and will then make corrections and install a next version ASAP.

If any serious error is found, it wiill be resolved immediately.

The first thing I notice is there isn't a clear path back into the game itself from the new forum. I know the forum appears as a popup when entered from within a game country/enterprise, but in the main account areas (home, direct trade, etc) the forum opens within the same window. Not having a link back to the main account screen is a minor inconvenience but one worth addressing.

On the portal, when you open the forum, is opens a new tab in the browser. you can leave the forum open and swutch back to the simcountry tab or you can close the forum tab.

By the way:
The forum software can be used on you mobile devices.

To open as a new tab is the ideal case for all situations. Uniform behaviour is a golden rule.

In terms of features, are we able to upload ir embed images in our posts? What is the markup to edit posts?

The nationalities forum should be moved to the Community section. Or just removed entirely.

We are missing some details.
We saw it before the installation but it is much easier now to update and we will collect your comments and implement as soon as possible.

- Editting a post after it was submitted is currently not possibe.
- Pages showing previous contributions show some and there is no scrollbaar or even a Next command to page further back.
- Uploading pictures.
- Always open a new tab when Forum is clicked.

It was quite a large project and we wanted it installed ASAP because, among other issues, it was blokking other developments.

we also wanted to introduce the capability to use it from a mobile device.
Now you can use it in read only mode by going to simcountry.com/forum and if you are loggen in, you can use the full functionality.

Also, click on the right mouse and you can use a different language.

How do you right on Android?

Op Android, when you go to simcountry.com/forum, click on the 3 vertical dots at the top right and then on translate.
then you can choose a language.

I have a Samsung phone and it workds.

You mean the built-in browser function? Yes, it works.

I like the new forum Andy! A little more contrast, and a light theme version would be appreciated too.

We also think that the readability should improve.
and we can probably add a light version.

I will copy here an updated list of improvements based on your and ours comments ahead of time.

These are several items to be resolved to improve the initial version of the new forum:

- Add a light theme option.
- More contrast to improve readability.

Could you please verify the support e-mail address? I've sent multiple messages regarding various topics, some over a month ago, with no response. If I have I'm sure other people have. If I'm using the wrong e-mail address that's on me, but if its the proper address I have to gently urge you to dedicate some additional time to reading and responding to support e-mails because if people have account level problems, waiting more than a month for response is going to hurt retention.
