Hey guys, I'm a new player (started just last week)

I have a few questions. Firstly, how do I balance my budget? I recalled all garrisons and deactivated all weapons. And why do my corporations contribute so little tax even though they're profitable?

And finally, is there any way to convert high level workers into something else?

Seragus, with respect, there are a thousand things to consider regarding budget. Basically make more money than you spend.

Tax paid is set by you as a percentage of profit. The corps can also be set to pay a part of their profit to the country as well.

No, you cant convert high level workers just like that. Your education system will do that gradually, so build your education and set your edu priorities for what worker types you need.

I really suggest that for the first two weeks of playing you read lots, especially the general, beginners and help forums, where you will pick up all the detailed info you need. The reason I say for the first two weeks is there are some settings you cant change in the first two weeks, or there was, this was/is going to be done away with. But regardless, have a really good read because there are many many different things to consider.

It is very profitable now because your income is boosted by beginners help.

You will increase your income if you make sure you upgrade all your corporations and set salaries in all your corporations.

But you also need to increase your welfare index. check the docs, and increase social security. Also health and education to 120, transportation too.
you purchase products for your population at a very high quality and you spend far too much.
reduce it to 120.

doing all this, your country will become more profitable long before the beginners help is phased out.
