1) The local newspaper has not worked correctly for awhile. It used to be that anyone could view the local paper of any country. This is useful, for people wanting to follow along with wars and analyze tactics. And, really just fun in time of mass outbreaks of war.

You can still do this using:

https://sim01.simcountry.com/cgi-bin/cgi2nova?SN_ADDRESS=wwwCountry&SN_METHOD=localnews&miCountryName=HYMYLAND&miNewsDate=54140801

and replacing the country name with the target. It would be nice if this was fixed.

2) Years ago in far away time a player could declare war on other countries within there own empire. There was no reason for this to be a problem. Well, until Jozi introduced CEOs and allowed them to build and buy anything anywhere. So players would use this option to eliminate these corps when they inevitably showed up uninvited. So, Jozi took this capability away. Since then the gamemasters have found better ways to deal with the scourge of CEOs. And are still at it even today. This hasty fix made long ago now serves no purpose.

I petition for the ability to declare war on ones own empire members be restored. It is a very useful mechanism for studying the war engine under controlled circumstances. I think many new people could benefit from being able to do military exercises. It's not unreasonable, and occurs even in the real world.

Thanks for your attention.

That's the screen shot from the RSS reader. It got the countries winning and losing wrong, probably the variables in the text block are reversed?

I've noticed recently that C3s maintain a couple military units.

Why?

Since the advent of war levels this is unneeded, isn't it?

Why not change it so that they don't have any military. This would ease the shortages, and save the economy of the countries, no?

Any way just something that seems dumb.

This is quite a late response, I am sorry.

Do you mean that C3 countries will have no way of defending themselves?

All transactions of weapons in or out of C3 countries result in the
purchases or sales of the weapons and ammo involved in these transactions,
on the markets.

There are several functions in Simcountry where the game/gamemaster delivers products including weapons and ammo.
This is also the case with immediate orders that are delivered, out of the blue, by the game.

In all such cases, when the gamemaster delivers, an order is placed on the market to purchase whatever is delivered.
when the products arrive, they are discarded.

the net intervention by the game is back to zero.

In C3s, that are not at war. I notice they have military units setup.

They shouldn't need them, as they get reconfigured when someone declares war on them.

You are right, they do not need them but they do no harm.
sometimes these countries are purchased and should be "complete".

I hadn't thought of the purchasing aspect in that way. I just figured that purchasing a C3 would result in it being reset to some standard state, as is the case for the war levels. Good bit of info to know.

I see your view too.

Before purchasing a C3 country, people look at several possibilities, check the numbers, including cash, natural resources and corporations.
we try to keep these countries in a reasonable status, including health, education etc. to allow the new owner an easy start.

so we do not touch it at the time of the purchase.

Thanks for your understanding.
