....so I always had all of my countries with the "old layout". I log on and see that it's switching to the "new" layout. I am going back to the settings to switch it back to the original one, but it keeps going back to the "new" layout. The "new" layout is murder on the eyes, I absolutely cannot stand it.... what happened?
This seems to be happening to all my countries. |

Glad I'm not alone; I really really hope this isn't permanent. For six (actual) years I've been using the old layout, I can't make that adjustment. The new one is terrible looking to me... stale. |

I hate it, but I understand that the GM wants to go with one style so I'm trying to use it.
But it is broke. If you try to change the color settings the save button does not work. It reverts back to the selected theme.
I want to use a dark background with bright text similar to the old layout. |

I think it should be an option to have the old, like we always had. IF it's being a permanent switch, a courtesy notice would had been nice. I think it would be a nice courtesy for us long time players. Lord knows, we can't catch breaks elsewhere. Give us something already....

I like idea to manually create your own kind of layout, but still the old layout is nicer and better fits on my screen. Also I like to see big country map, while new layout only gives a number of ugly boxes.
If decision is made to have a single layout then I think that it is better to stay with an old one or create completely new-fashioned one which could also help to attract new players. |

I give up... clearly I am being ignored by the GM. Either out of spite, favoritism, whatever. Just my opinion, I'm entitled to at least that much...
But hey, I just spent more cash today to extend my membership. Enjoy the money. I must come from a place where customer service means, being receptive to the paying customer. Call me old fashioned. |

We have responded to this issue many times and I think we were quite clear about it.
Nearly everyone knows only one user interface.
If any changes will be made in the future, these will be in the direction of the Simcountry APP interface.
We do not think we should have three different user interfaces.
The old interface requires a lot of resources we do not have.
It is phased out. |

I use the app for notifications, so I know if something has happened in my nation. However, I find there are to many things you can't do on it. So I usually log in to the conventional browser based system to actually interact with the game.

Thanks for supporting Simcountry.
However, keeping the old interface costs north of $3000 per year.
I know the app needs a lot of improvement and we will prefer to spend resources doing just that.
It is already possible to use the app interface on the desktop.
we do not turn it on because the app interface (version) it now finished. |

The old layout looked so much.. better. It looked like it painted a picture of a country, instead of just having blocks of info that are very unpleasant to look at. Is there anyway of making the new layout have some similarities to the old, to give it that more aesthetically pleasing look? |

Agreed. Some re-work would be nice for the layout. Ability such as more observant to other players such as to see weps + ammo if not private, then displaying a an activity like the old layout did. Its much better to know who is playing. Possibly also find a way to intregate everything more clean like the old layout did for display of the main indexs, then another box for details like corperations and ammo,material and weapon values. Better integrating things would be a start as having things all over the place.
Things like the ability to remove the change apperance option in the upper right hand corner so the change appearance does not take up extra room as well as fix how much space is on each page as i can scroll all the down for no reason. I like gadgets i think they are a good concept for how a player might play but i don't like how useless some options feel. Like change appearance has to take up an entire box space? cant just be a little button as it takes me to a seperate page anyway. To also note; things like in-game message = as useless as it gets. **I want to see more indexs/information in an area vs useless stuff all over the place. Best warlords(aka belly flop feature)? Just believe should be more though into the layout then just somekind of customizable scrap paper macaroni art.** |

Honestly i have been using the new layout for several years now (ofcourse i have only stablized on here past year and a half) and i have not minded it all in such, i find somethings kind of nice like not having to use the scrolling bar since the profits just display right up front. The old layout just had things set up in a manner was easier to access the basics, as well as features that new layout does not have. I do not believe the new layout even tells the goverment type. While the type of leader you are; yes. But takes away the type of goverment; which i do believe goes against adding more cosmetic feature/drive to the games function.
Like recently see stuff about simcountry wiki, stuff like that will help drive the game and inspire people to play and actually do cool stuff even in the game. Ignoring little things like those is what costs player after player that leave only few who can deal with such people who are so obtuse and hard-headed for the agenda they believe for whatever reasons.
Alot of new players, Andy; but you need to make sure they stay.. Even if they are not paying right away. Should try to figure out how to get players to stay more, since the Belly flop planet acid pit; Crimson one, is not doin all that well but eating its own ass up. |
