On the one hand, a new problem for me (dismantlement). On the other, I seem to remember having problems with resupplying units from previous visits to the game. And indeed, from old posts this is the case.

Supply mechanics are not working. If one game feature does not work, it leads to doubt that others do.

From the documentation:

10. Garrison supplies in peace time [ top ]
Countries can have a large number of garrisons and keeping these garrisons supplied requires supply units. Garrisons are resupplied automatically, each game month, using supplies if available, from the country stocks. This function is only active in countries that are not involved in war.

This automation feature reduces the number of supply units that are needed in a country in peace time. Once the country is at war, garrisons are supplied by the supply units the country has in the same way other military units are supplied. Please make sure you have a sufficient number of supply units or add some if you see shortage messages in your newspaper in war time.

There seems to be a disconnect here. While it wouldn't show up in the operations log, it should show up in weapons systems being removed (or added) from garrisons.

Perhaps the automatic resupply doesn't work, and dismantling is tied to it?

Yet Another disconnect from the documentation.

To reduce the size of the log they do not write to the log when they only deliver Gasoline and Military Services.

Last successful offload Jan. Current date. sept 6.

Is there no way I can destroy these? Pretty soon, the cumulative cost of their salaries is going to exceed the cost of weapon systems.

Set up new garrison blueprint. going to try and slowly replace, one by one, extant garrisons. At over 1 billion a month in expenses for one ammunition type, I hope this works.

After having supply units go out of supply, increased the number of supply units to 15 small/20 large. Bringing military to 35 supply units, 14 air wings, and 42 garrison units still extant. (at the time of the restructuring.)

11 entries into the operations log vis a vis the dismantling process.

Every time I've dismantled supply units, I've got an initial burst, which fell to nothing afterwards. Not all supply units were involved, suggesting yet another coding problem, since we know the automatic resupply/no operations entry mechanic is broken. (see previous entries). I see nothing in the documentation of a limited number of supply runs possible per month, only a limitation by the distance each supply unit must travel in order to fulfill their missions vice the time that travel takes.

Surmise: Supply system does not track priorities or orders correctly, from month to month, possibly not at all. This included not only the garrison dismantling process, but from my limited data, supplies to military units already established. (interceptor wings and supply units both have fallen out of supply while I was keeping track of this.)

As a work around until it gets fixed, I will continue to dismantle supply units, and restructure the force.

Note: Please disregard the above if the supply units now moving were the result of a hotfix by the game programmers that did not make into the game news.

Will continue to track and advise until the problem is fixed. Looking forward to a speedy resolution of the problem. Please advise in what other ways I can help.

Am continuing to dismantle/reform supply units. Again, after an initial burst (4-5) offloads, including duplicates by the same supply unit, the process fails. Down to 27 garrisons, and at this rate should have all dismantled in another week or so of real time.

That number 4 also factors in my next post in this Topic - More Supply System Problems, and may be a starting place to look to fix the problem.

Not sure what you are doing or what the problem is.

In the documentation we in fact explain that the supply function in peace time is automatic and does not use the supply unit.

we do not want to have thousands of supply units run back and forth in peace time while logistics is not an issue.
Doing it during the month update is fast and easy.

During war, the intensive supply function takes over and uses the available supply units.

I'm not sure what the hiccup is either. The supply function was not functioning either at all, or in an extrmely limited fashion.

What I was attempting to do, and is still in progress was to dismantle garrisons. It is functioning now, in an extremely limited manner. 3-5 garrisons being dismantled per month. In war and in peace. (unless you define war as PvP only.)

Initially, after the first month of dismantling all supply units and reforming them (otherwise there would be no progress at all) - they completely quit. Despite having a phlethora of supply units.

The 3-5 missions a month I'm considering as a benchmark. This explains issues I've had with supply units and military units (not garrisons) going out of supply during peace time. There were simply not enough missions available to supply all needed units.

Part of the automatic supply function that is not working is the reporting. There should be no logging of drop offs of gasoline and military supplies only per the documentation. They are being logged.

May 13 3762 Coalinga reports: Coalinga replenished Arroyo with: 2109 tons Gasoline, 398 units Military Supplies.

Demonstrating that they do, in fact, use the supply unit.

All dismantling orders are being logged.

Sep 06 3764 Garrison TG5077 reports: Santeros replenished Garrison TG5077 with: 90 tons Gasoline, 9600 units Military Supplies, 699 Anti Aircraft Missiles. Garrison TG5077 offloads: 180 Anti Aircraft Missile Batteries.
Sep 06 3764 Garrison TG5076 reports: Adulam replenished Garrison TG5076 with: 90 tons Gasoline, 9600 units Military Supplies, 699 Anti Aircraft Missiles. Garrison TG5076 offloads: 180 Anti Aircraft Missile Batteries.
Sep 06 3764 Garrison TG5079 reports: Hebron replenished Garrison TG5079 with: 90 tons Gasoline, 9600 units Military Supplies, 699 Anti Aircraft Missiles. Garrison TG5079 offloads: 180 Anti Aircraft Missile Batteries.

I believe they are supposed to be. Unsure why they are being recorded as being replenished then offloaded. (as opposed to onloaded or another term. Effect is the same from my viewpoint - the garrison ceases to exist.)

I no longer am having the issue of having to dismantle/reform the supply units to get them moving.

After watching the garrisons not changing at all after ordering them to dismantle, I used another garrison blueprint and supply units responded immidiately. After the change was completed, I changed it to "Undefended", and the day after I checked, garrisons was emptied.

Problem solved
