Friday, June 12, 2015 - 06:08 pm So ill change my education priorities but then they go back to what they were before and this has happened well over 10 times..

Friday, June 12, 2015 - 09:44 pm i'm sure your doing it right, but just in case, if you click on the button on the left, that will happen. again, i'm sure you saw that, next thing to check is the automated features, if you've done that, then this sounds like a bug, try emailing the GM.

Saturday, June 13, 2015 - 04:33 am This happens all the time with my medical priorities for education. I increase the education level for nurses, doctors and senior doctors and it gets kicked right back down. The GM is constantly ordering hospitals I don't have workers for. When I am on line I have to cancel the hospitals, but some still get built because I can't be on line 24 hours. This creates an even bigger shortage of workers and I get country news reports that I have hospitals I didn't order getting shut down. Of course this deliberate G.M. chicanery costs my countries money. It also happens when I attempt to increase education levels for HTE. I have spoken to other players who have the same problem, so I don't believe it is a glitch, just another gm scam.

Saturday, June 13, 2015 - 04:35 am Extra note, this has been occurring for at least 2 years.

Saturday, June 13, 2015 - 01:43 pm 209, at the time of this writing, your education priorities in Roman Empire, FB, add up to 209, i would bet that you've stumbled on a hidden feature, EV, that once you raise your priorities to a certain level, the game will automatically reduce them 10. Education .... Education priorities Setting higher education priority numbers for several groups of professionals will make the education system increase its production of professionals. This will start happening directly but it will take time to adjust and make big changes. You cannot change the education system overnight. The priority numbers should add up to 120. Higher totals do not make sense. ...... Prevent overheating When priorities are not being updated for a long time, the education system will continue to produce according to the existing priorities and that may result in very large surpluses in one or more professional groups. The priorities should be updated once in several days and reflect the changing needs. It may become necessary to reduce the education priorities and reduce the number of graduates. Unchecked growth in education may result in a large number of unemployed professionals. As they become obsolete, they will move to other professions at lower levels. -as an aside for another topic Workers Education .... Many of the workers move from being a Low-level worker to medium-level worker and to high-level worker. The movements between these groups are taking place all the time and depend on the numbers available and needed in the other groups and also depend on time related factors. It is impossible to assume that a million workers will move to another profession in a single month, the numbers of moving workers are limited. -also an aside for another topic thing is, your 209, well, please don't be offended, but its absurd. your priorities are probably being automatically lowered to a reasonable level. if you can't manage your work force with Education priorities between 80-120, then you need to either raise or lower your EI, by raising your priorities, you are not tricking the game into free education, it keeps reverting to a reasonable level.

Saturday, June 13, 2015 - 02:29 pm EV, you mentioned that you are constant running short of health care pros -EV Low Level Worker->14,419 SC$ Income of low level Government Workers workers->7,000 SC$ so that gives you a gov worker salary of 150? but your state corps are running 300, you must keep your government workers with in 75% of your state workers, or you're employees will seek employment in the corporations, and leave the hospitals.
by running your government costs lower, it only makes it appear that your saving money, their are hidden costs that off set any saving, one such is that you have to pay to constantly retrain your health pros and educators, (your teachers priority of 37 tells me you have problems their.) so by bringing your government and corp salaries closer together, you wont need super high priorities for health and education, just to stay afloat. for me, i've ran countrys from 200+ EI, to less that 100, and been successful with high and low EI's, and their is something thats consistant, reguardless of the actual EI for teachers, university teachers, nurses and doctors, i usually have to many, with an education priority of 4. i have to bounce them back and forth from 3, where the numbers drop, to 4 where they climb. occasionally i'll need to raise them higher, but cruising speed is 3-4. senior doctors are the same, but usually 1-2 points higher, that is with nurses, doctors, and senior doctors, i might run them 3-3-5, or 4-4-6. your high priorities, are just over working and over stressing your underpaid, educators, and health pros, ofcourse they'd bail and go for double the pay, for half the effort!

Saturday, June 13, 2015 - 02:50 pm as far as the hospitals being auto-built, aside from the automation feature, i don't know, but maybe if you fix your government salaries, and your EP, the other problem will fix itself? for your state corp salary of 300, your government salaries should 226, or higher, the very best is to run them both the same

Saturday, June 13, 2015 - 04:10 pm Orbiter, I don't know where you got the number 209 as the educational index for "Roman Empire". The average education index for the empire as a whole is 151.Roman Empire's education index is actually the lowest at 149. My countries range from 149 at the low end to 152 at the high end. I have no worker shortages except health and occasionally HTE. However, in my original post, I neglected to add that the knock down of my education priority settings occurs in 9 of my countries. For some reason, "Roman Empire" and "Brittania, Roman Empire Province" do not have this issue and my Health worker education settings maintain the settings I placed. As for salaries. My state corps are all set at 300 and I have very profitable countries. All run a profit. I have no health worker problem in Roman Empire or Brittania and I actually have my government salary index at only 140 in those countries. As for being offended, I am not offended at all and I appreciate the time you took to post. Your numbers don't apply to my empire. Your post, unfortunately, is not helpful to me. No offense

Saturday, June 13, 2015 - 05:23 pm OOOF. That is all very good advice. I wouldn't know how else to help. I run my priorities at 240 with no problems. Sometimes I hit the wrong button and they revert; I hate that.

Saturday, June 13, 2015 - 10:13 pm Education Priority: LLM 10 MLM 11 HLM 14 EXE 7 HTE 21 HTS 18 HTX 7 T 37 UT 9 N 15 D 35 SD 15 ------ 199 as of now not Education Index, Education Priorities. your graph for total teachers https://sim02.simcountry.com/cgi-bin/cgi2nova?SN_ADDRESS=wwwCountry&SN_METHOD=w3graph&miTable=cntrhist&miKey=1676&miColumn=vCTotalNumberOfTeacher and for recent graduates https://sim02.simcountry.com/cgi-bin/cgi2nova?SN_ADDRESS=wwwCountry&SN_METHOD=w3graph&miTable=cntrhist&miKey=1676&miColumn=vCTeacherEducationOutput so where you can say you don't have a problem, that is, you only don't have a problem, when your education priorities are super high! your teachers should be just fine with a priority assigned to them at 10% the value you must asign to them, to keep them

Saturday, June 13, 2015 - 10:19 pm the graphs didn't work right, their is an obvious decline in total teachers that changes to an obvious increase, at the same time as a dramatic increase in graduates, meaning that the large EP for teacher, is necessary to keep enough teachers, when if you where to keep your government and state corp salaries more closely aligned, you wouldn't have to run such high priorities a month or 2 ago, i added pop to all my countries, i let the HI go, which i'll do sometimes, and i built new corps to fill the employment. of my 9 countries, my largest had no major problems, (until the 34M i more recently added,) but of my other 8, starting with the smallest to the largest, my educators, and health pros started disappearing. i thought it was my low health index hitting those catagories first. i raised my EP for those things, and prepared to weather the storm. then yesterday, i noticed, that the new corps where being built at 250 salaries, while my other corps, and government salaries where at 100. with my smallest countries having the largest increase, they where hit the hardest with teachers and nurses hitting the road. when i noticed this, i adjusted the salaries to what they where suppose to be, last game month when they hit the green range... w popboost-LU https://sim05.simcountry.com/cgi-bin/cgi2nova?SN_ADDRESS=wwwCountry&SN_METHOD=w3graph&miTable=cntrhist&miKey=2782&miColumn=vCTotalNumberOfTeacher so what you can see, is a dramatic increase in the total, which happened the same month that my government workers where with in 75% of the state corps salary. and this is happening in all my countries, that where having this problem but hey, its your game, play it how you want, i'm just trying to point out, its not the GM's fault your having these problems.

Sunday, June 14, 2015 - 05:13 pm Orbiter, I read your post too quickly and thought you were talking about my education index. I see noe wht you are referring to. However, my issue is not my educational priorities in Roman Empire and Brittania Roman Empire Province. Those Education priorities have been automatically set by the GM in those 2 countries. As I indicated in my first reply to your post, it is my other nine countries that are having a problem ONLY with the education priorities for health workers. I am having the same issue as snevins35 regarding my education priority settings for health workers in 9 countries. When I increase the priority settings in these countries, they get automatically knocked back down for health workers in the very next game month. I see no reason this. The game forces a health care worker shortage in these nine countries, then automatically opens hospitals even though I don't have enough workers and finally closes hospitals for lack of workers which costs me..This has been going on for months on end. I have been told by other players that they have the same problem. Obviously the GM is deliberately creating this issue for me. This the only worker issue I am having. Obviously, the GM runs the game, so who else can I blame. I am glad you solved your worker issue. However, I don't have the issue you describe and see no reason to tinker with Roman Empire education priorities. There is no reason for me to fix what is not broken. Again, your issue doesn't address the isolated problem snevins35 and I are having.

Sunday, June 14, 2015 - 09:38 pm how about this, you sell me "Galatia Roman Empire Province" for any set prices of 300 GC or less, and put 25T cash into in. i'll buy it for the set amount, and fix it in 6 weeks or less. i'll increase the profit, while fixing your worker, and health problems if i do, i'll sell it back to you for the same amount -20T cash, if i don't i'll add 20T of my own, so the bet is 20T that i can fix your health and education problem with one setting, a couple of settings to smooth it out, and a couple of corp settings to improve the econ, and that it wont take long at all

Monday, June 15, 2015 - 07:29 am I think I'll do that. What is your country on FB? I would like to in game message you.

Monday, June 15, 2015 - 07:31 am I think I'll do that. What is your country name on FB? I would like to in game message you.

Monday, June 15, 2015 - 07:46 am Galatia is already a profitable country. You want me to place $25T into the country and sell it to you for only 300 gold coins which is only worth $9.3T? No offense, you must be out of your mind. My only issue with 9 of my countries is that the health education priorities I set keep getting kicked back down. There is no reason for the GM to do that. You can't fix that issue. Thanks? but no thanks. LOL.

Monday, June 15, 2015 - 01:48 pm well, the 300 GC wasn't meant as an actual price, i'd sell it back for the same price. but if it was me, i'd have a difficult time allowing some one else to fix my country for me, this is sim country after all, its kinda the point of the game to figure out how to make things work. what i will leave you with, is the way your doing things, according to the game documentation, is not the intended way, you found a work around, but that only goes so far. to fix your problems, you should follow the game documentation. I sincerely doubt that the GM are molesting your countries

Tuesday, June 16, 2015 - 01:18 am ie documentation. How can you tell what is outdated, and what is not? For example.... War Doc 37 The maximum number of fortifications a country can have is 100. Had similar problems the last time I was in the game.... some of the documentation is obsolete. Since that is the case, a new player has the dilemma of trying to rely on it, and being unsure if any of it is right. And on that note, I'll bow out of this conversation. Begging your pardon for the interruption. MNey

Tuesday, June 16, 2015 - 05:55 am marshal ney whats the risk to reward factor? you try adjusting salaries, whats the worst thats gonna happen? its like your unwilling to figure out how things work, because it might break on you, while you campaign that its not working?

Tuesday, June 16, 2015 - 06:12 am Marshal Ney is correct about game documentation. I no longer rely on it. It is misleading new players. I've complained about it previous posts. The GM could care less about game issues. I basically play the game applying general economic principals and hope they work out. I don't delve into numbers like you do. I've always done well enough economically. I've tried the GM way only to be burned once too often. My guiding game principle is the greatest enemy one has is not a player, but the GM. They are not here to help you, they are here to make a buck.
