Aries | Wednesday, November 6, 2013 - 03:21 pm I am receiving the error, "You do not have the required weapons for this unit.", whenever I try to create a new land unit. Tried several types. Division, Long Range Division, and Brigade. I select the number of weapons needed, both on the high and low ranges, and at the bottom the error remains and I cannot select "next". In the weapons area, the green check will be present showing I have selected the correct number of weapons, however. |
Aries | Thursday, November 7, 2013 - 07:48 am I am still experiencing this. Anyone else having trouble forming land units? |
Archangel | Thursday, November 7, 2013 - 11:51 am Hmm,u beat me to the question Aries, i am experiencing this same problem. |
dhyjdhg agthfghgf | Thursday, November 7, 2013 - 03:54 pm I had the same problem too. I tried to create a long range battalion with 125 heavy artillery cannons and 125 heavy tanks. (It's not intended to engage in combat with enemy forces. Its sole purpose is to demolish enemy cities, factories, forts, etcetera, after the enemy defenses have been destroyed by other military units. That's why it has no defensive weapons and only the cheapest of offensive weapons.) In total, I had selected 250 weapons (125 heavy artillery + 125 heavy tanks), which is the minimum required number of weapons for a long range battalion. I had the necessary tanks and artillery pieces in my inventory, and consequently, I had all the necessary weapons to create the unit WITH THE WEAPONS WHICH I HAD SELECTED FOR IT. However, I didn't have many of the weapons needed to create a long range battalion with the DEFAULT weapons. For instance, I didn't have offensive aa batteries, anti tank missile batteries, or heavy armored vehicles. Because of that, the game thought I didn't have enough weapons to create the unit. I had to click the "Buy All Missing Products" button to buy all the missing products which I would have needed to create the long range battalion with the default weapons and supplies, so that the game would realize that I had all the necessary weapons and supplies to create the long range battalion. When I did that, the numbers of weapons and ammo in the long range battalion I was creating automatically reset to the default numbers, and I was no longer blocked from creating the long range battalion. I then simply reset the numbers of weapons, ammo and supplies to what I had originally wanted (125 heavy artillery cannons, 125 heavy tanks, 60,000 heavy artillery shells, 60,000 heavy tank ammunition, 6,000 tons of gasoline, 50,000 military supplies, 147 trucks), and was then able to create the long range battalion without further difficulty. Unfortunately, I now have a bunch of unwanted weapons and ammo left over which I had to buy in order to create the long range battalion, but which I never actually intended to put in the long range battalion or in any other military unit, which I have no use for, and which I'm now trying to sell in order to recoup my country's losses. Hopefully this is simply a glitch and will soon be fixed. Andy, Simcountry already has rules dictating the maximum and minimum total numbers of weapons in different military units. I hope you aren't also intending to introduce rules dictating the maximum and minimum numbers of individual weapon types in military units. Currently, the default weapon configurations of all defensive garrisons, supply units, and defensive and offensive military units, all make tactically inefficient use of manpower and other resources, as do the default configurations for many types of air wings. Consequently, any limitation on the ability of players to change the ratios of different weapon types in military units and garrisons will severely reduce the ability of players to ameliorate said inefficiency, and this will in turn require players to spend much larger quantities of money to maintain a defense force with the same capabilities, or else to settle for a much less capable defense force in order to avoid a significant increase in the cost thereof. |
Aries | Friday, November 8, 2013 - 09:48 pm Alright, there is a new development in this. I found, if you do meet the required number of weapons, you can indeed click the "next" button and create the unit. The problem is, the "next" button remains shaded giving the illusion that it will not work since you don't meet requirements. |
Andy | Saturday, November 9, 2013 - 10:21 am Thanks for these comments. we will look into it coming Monday and fix if wrong. |

Andy | Saturday, November 16, 2013 - 12:09 pm The "next" button indeed remained shaded when creating new units but could be used. the problem was solved the next day. |
