Crafty | Monday, January 7, 2013 - 09:47 pm Is there a reason why I can only extend my country and enterprise registrations for 2 weeks when I have a months worth of membership left? SC isnt shutting down in 2 weeks is it :/ (Just kidding Andy) |
SuperSoldierRCP | Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - 12:19 am Plus id like to state last night @ 1AM GMT(USA) i bought a $12-3month membership, Only to be woken this morning @ 10AM by my BANK!!! To learn that W3C tried to take 6processes of $12..... Im Stating this so evenyone and the GM take note. If i hadnt gotten a call they would have taken over 80bucks from me, Is this how you run your business "ANDY"? If this is an error on the credit processing i do understand but i would like an apology. |
Serpent | Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - 02:13 am Im sorry you have my apology... regards gamemaster.... ooops I mean Jason or Serpent! |
Crafty | Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - 04:56 pm Give 'em a break soldier, it would be their bank or yours that screwed up. You dont think Andy sits at a cash point machine waiting for it to spit $$$ at him do you, and then trying to get more. Now Serpent might.... I heard the construction industry wasnt doing too well right now... |
SweetPea | Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - 06:05 pm I doubt transaction issues didn't originate when w3 started collecting payments. Mistakes happen all the time. Be happy the bank called you. Not sure why you are demanding an apology. Chizz happens. |
Andy | Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - 07:48 pm Supersoldier: Thanks for your contribution on Jan. 7 but this story beats everything and I have seen a lot. We are unable to "TAKE" anything from any account. we do not know your credit card number, not even your name and have no access to any of the accounts of any player. We also have no access to any Paypal account or any function that can TAKE money. Nobody can TAKE money from a Paypal account,. It requires your permission. This is done by design and as a result, we have virtually no problems ever with any payments. If anyone will ever break into our systems, they will find nothing because we do not have any players data at all. We cannot TAKE anything from anyone. Whatever is written off your bank account is the result of what you do, or your bank but certainly not a result of what we do. |
Crafty | Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - 10:30 pm Gamemaster. I was woken at 5am yesterday by three really big scary men with baseball bats. They said my enterprise was 8T dollars in debt and demanded I pay straight away. Do you now hire hitmen to collect debts? Please call your dogs off, it upset my wife. Yours sincerely, broke and beaten. |
SweetPea | Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - 11:48 pm lol |
Andy | Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - 11:49 pm Crafty, We will not stop and the baseball bats will be used. The angry men will keep coming until you pay all the Ts. |
Keto | Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - 11:57 pm lol |
Serpent | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 12:12 am In UK the gamemaster uses baseball bats, in the US their hitmen have guns! They take what they want and make us like it! |
SuperSoldierRCP | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 01:03 am I wanted to let andy KNOW of there was a problem... I could email paypal, they should would also show the mult process payment since it did go thought them, i could also claim fruad... Tie up W3C paypal under the claim of Fruadlent activity. I used paypal and a credit card so both the bank/paypal would have those records... But then again thats not my character I mean what does paypal, a Bank, and a military payroll account know anyways right? Im sure if no one called and they all went though im sure you wouldnt be saying that, now come to think of it i SHOULD have let them go though... That would have made a better story huh Andy |
SweetPea | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 03:18 am First of all Super, you are lying. You can link your paypal account to your bank account for withdrawals from paypal given you had a source of income to withdraw back to your bank account. It doesn't work the other way around, has not, and never will. If you deposit money into your paypal account to pay for Simcountry, Paypal under no circumstance would ever be able to multi-process or debit funds from your bank account. It would only use the available funds you deposited into your paypal account. But let us imagine that for a moment you could authorize paypal to auto-debit from your bank account(which they DO NOT DO under any circumstances I am aware of), if they did the fault would be entirely yours. Even though the possibility doesn't exist. At least in America. You are in Hawaii aren't you? |
SuperSoldierRCP | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 09:44 am Shows how little you know Wendy, BTW don't ever call me a liar again or I will become the worst nightmare you've ever had, I'm not you... Also if you go extend your account, pick you selection then click the PayPal option it gives you the choice to pay via account or with credit card, I have done this over and over. I attempted to pay with a card though that opinion, Andy should be able to see how many times a credit card is processed. Like I said if it was a PC/process problem fine so be it I understand shit happens an apology is all I want, he can deny it but the end of the day I have the logs, and the statement to prove it. Ill walk you thought my steps Account & membership Extend membership select 3month $12USD then click the paypal link(has the mastercard/visa/american express icons) ---Wait for secure connection--- click Dont have a paypal account then it asks for all my credit card info enter info then it process then you accept terms then BAM paid and done Dont EVER call me a liar again, DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR |
SweetPea | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 04:01 pm If you lied... well whatever Super. No one believes you lol. Keep kidding yourself. Have a nice day, fibber. |
SweetPea | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 04:02 pm You used your bank OR your paypal, it can't be both. I'm not surprised you don't realize what it is you are taking about. |
Borg Queen | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 05:57 pm Well Pea, just to right one thing: Over here in Germany, if you link your PayPal Account to your Bank Account you can let PP withdraw money from your bankaccount without having to deposit it in your PP account first so if you, lets say have 0$ in your PP, buy GCs here using PP, PP will automatically even out your PP account by withdrawing the money from your Bankaccount. That may be different in other Countries, idnk but over here you can choose that option. You can also choose not to let PP do their 'Auto'-withdrawels and then you have to deposit money first. |
Andy | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 06:05 pm We cannot claim that a transaction cannot go wrong. what I was saying is that we have not taken anything from any account and are by design, unable to do so. Despite it, there are such claims from time to time. the last one was in November and Paypal checked and dismissed it. we have a long and excellent record with Paypal. We have never been accused by Paypal of any wrong doing in any transactions in all these years. but again, you could go into a thorough research of what exactly happened and where these transactions came from. I just checked and it is a clean, one transaction, on our account and there were no corrections or comments from Paypal or any other party about it. Thanks again for supporting Simcountry. |
SuperSoldierRCP | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 06:08 pm All i know is there was a problem Andy If you like Email me and id be happy to provide a statement i will contunie supporting SC as i have done for years, all i know is i can show that i had attepmted charges SEVERAL times i validated 1, IDK how it happened but it did As i said im willing to help you in finding out what happened |
SweetPea | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 08:43 pm Perhaps you are right Borg, I don't live in Germany, I meant in the USA. I am not sure why anyone would allow paypal to auto-debit their account in the event they are short. Assuming they are using paypal to make a transaction, it would be smarter to take the 2 or so minutes to move money manually from your bank to paypal. I wouldn't allow any outside party the option to auto-debit anything from my account. They ask all the time but I flat out refuse. Better safe than sorry. Especially your main account, if you have more than one. I just don't get the logic of taking on that kind of risk. They ask to do it for the electric Bill, when I used to have a car payment, cable and internet bill, but I refuse. I'd rather get the bill and pay it, and get a paper receipt. Too much can go wrong with the world of online banking. Sorry for butting into this issue I will see my way out. |
Andy | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 11:04 pm Supersoldier Please mail the gamemaster any information on such transaction. |
Rick | Wednesday, January 9, 2013 - 11:07 pm I use the same procedure you used Super. Paypal is somehow involved, but you have no account with them. I had tried just clicking Visa and had trouble with the process. Actually, a tip on the forum here suggested going through Paypal to handle the transaction. SC could not have mucked up the process. I would think your bank would be able to tell you who did, they warned you about it. Let us know what you find out. |
SuperSoldierRCP | Thursday, January 10, 2013 - 01:27 am Andy i called my bank, i provided not only the info but a time stamped log of the time of the transactions they also should match anything you have on record, Also Please enjoy the little love note i left you at the bottem of the Email Your Bestest Freind 4EVER...SUPER And rick i will keep everyone up to date. IDK what happened with paypal but atleast from my bank they show 7transactions in a 8min period. They are all almost 1min apart, which leads me to believe there might have been a lag or weird processing issue. I dont know the facts for sure but im sure between me and the gamemaster we can find out what happened |
Rick | Thursday, January 10, 2013 - 01:40 am Maybe the terminal stutters!! |
Crafty | Thursday, January 10, 2013 - 10:06 pm My Paypal is linked to a bank account. Any payment I wish to make using Paypal will take me to paypals secure site where I am asked to confirm the payment (after securely logging in).An email receipt is then automatically sent. Considering nearly all Ebay transactions are made via Paypal I would think it is pretty reliable. My phone provider once charged me over 900 GBP for a 2 minute local call! No system is 100% perfect I suppose. |
Andy | Tuesday, January 15, 2013 - 03:31 pm We have looked into our logs. We have seen, the before you paid by paypal, you have tried to pay by credit card. There are seven attempts to pay by visa and all were refused with an error. (by the bank, not by us, we cannot check credit and have no credit card data). All requests were made manually and originated from your IP address, between 10:30 and 10:37. This is what you said here about our way of running the business: --------------------------------------- quote: Plus id like to state last night @ 1AM GMT(USA) i bought a $12-3month membership, Only to be woken this morning @ 10AM by my BANK!!! To learn that W3C tried to take 6processes of $12..... Im Stating this so evenyone and the GM take note. If i hadnt gotten a call they would have taken over 80bucks from me, Is this how you run your business "ANDY"? If this is an error on the credit processing i do understand but i would like an apology. end of quote -------------------------------------------- when you said all this, why didn't you mention the 7 times you tried to pay by credit card? and then turned to paypal? you should have mentioned this before accusing w3creative of trying to take your money 7 times. I have the VISA transaction trail with exact date, time, IP number, transaction number and name. If needed, I will place it here. |
SweetPea | Tuesday, January 15, 2013 - 04:42 pm Yeah I knew it didn't make sense that paypal would magically dig into his actual bank account all those times too. I would be ticked. Super I would make sure never to let anyone, even a business like paypal have access to your actual bank account. That is just crazy. Plus if their servers get hacked, now the hackers have your bank/routing info and could try and pose as whomever you granted access in order to wipe you clean. Paypal only has authorization to deposit into my account, but never to withdraw - for any reason. |
Andy | Tuesday, January 15, 2013 - 07:09 pm The 7 attempts to pay, were not on paypal. These were on the credit card part of the payments system. After the 7 failed attempts, he tried paypal and it was successful. I don't know if the credit card was used at all or just paid from the paypal account. |
SuperSoldierRCP | Wednesday, January 16, 2013 - 08:08 am (cleared by super) |
SuperSoldierRCP | Wednesday, January 16, 2013 - 08:50 am The above post was cleared by me, i wrote that before reading the email the GM sent me. Before i comment on our Email i would like to state this. Andy I am sorry for the angry messages in this thread aswell as my "tone" when dicusessing this issue, I do understand its not "Your" fault and im sorry for slandering W3C in the process. Those where in the heat of the moment when tempers where at there highest, but even then that gives me no right for being as rude and agressive as i was, and for that i am sorry. I hope you accept my apology and we can work together to uncovering this issue. ---------As for the problem---------- I told the GM i did try to process the card but the link didnt work so i moved on to paypal. I ---DO--- admit trying both opitions, how ever i didnt try them 7 times. A person doesnt sit there and watch there card get rejected then try to process it 6more times. Also i provided the GM my Credit Card statement. It shows that it had 7 attempted charges before i used paypal but the moment i used paypal(with the use of the same credit card), it was allowed. Meaning that the first 7times where rejected but when i used paypal it was allowed. Also in my card statement i showed another payment of 180USD to the Court of Hawaii. This shows there was funds in my account, which makes me wonder even if i made all those purchases why wherent they honored? And if i didnt have the funds why was my card allowed to be charged though Paypal? I told the GM in a private email that i dont think it was there fault, I honestly believe at this point there must have been an error with either processing or maybe internet lag. As promised i will keep you all up to date on what happens and hopefully we can uncover what happened. And again i would like to thank the GM for there time and coperation in this matter, and i would again like to apologize to "Andy" for my rude behavior in this matter. He has been very helpful in this problem and i think everyone should know that. |
Andy | Wednesday, January 16, 2013 - 10:34 am There were 7 manual attempts to pay using VISA from your IP address. If you wish to see it, I will place here the log we receive about daily payments but your IP number is showing. Credit card number does not show. |
SuperSoldierRCP | Wednesday, January 16, 2013 - 06:03 pm Andy If i show 7 attempts then im sure you show 7attempts aswell, my problem is i didnt make several of attempts. Why would i try 7 times is my issue? Who watches there card get declined 3times then goes let me try 4 more times only to keep having them declined, then go let me try it on paypal? What do you know it worked. Both you and i where able to prove that these transactions where made, But again what confuses me is how did it get charged mult times becuase, i didnt attempt 7 charges, why where they declined, but when paypal was used it was honored? |
Crafty | Wednesday, January 16, 2013 - 10:39 pm Do leave it out now SS. These things do happen occasionally, a computer somewhere misprocesses something. Wise up, it'll probably happen again some day, just stop making such an issue out of it. |
dennis.bradley | Monday, January 21, 2013 - 01:50 am I took over a country without a presedent I used my 5 gold to extend protection on the country I annexed why did the 5 gold dissapear from my home country too as well as the contry I annexed . |
Serpent | Tuesday, January 22, 2013 - 03:21 pm Gold Coins are not kept in individual countries. They are kept in a 'main account', your direct trading account. When you purchase things with gold coins they are removed from that account, not your individual countries. |
