Baer | Saturday, September 8, 2012 - 04:03 am I dec'd a level 3 C3 and attacked the town defense with ground support and an air wing consisting of 340 bombers and 160 fighters and I lost 26 bombers!! All the previous times, I had used the same type and quality units (~230) and only lost 7. What's going on? Is anyone else also getting excessive casualties? And what is with the setup quality changes? |
Crafty | Sunday, September 9, 2012 - 01:05 am Was this a higher war level C3 than you attacked before? |
Baer | Sunday, September 9, 2012 - 01:59 am Nope same level |
Michael VII | Monday, November 5, 2012 - 07:00 am Yes, I too am finding the same conclusion. Losing hundreds of weapons when attacking a lesser target. Something is amiss. |
Andy | Monday, November 5, 2012 - 12:03 pm We will test. The quality of the unit could be an issue. |
Gaz | Monday, November 5, 2012 - 06:31 pm Andy have you guys made a change to the performance of drones? They no longer work as sheilds for fighters |
SuperSoldierRCP | Tuesday, November 6, 2012 - 06:05 am We will test. The quality of the unit could be an issue. In Andy talk that means the GM messed with units without telling us again... EVERYONE BEST DOUBLE CHECK YOUR STUFF!!! |
Andy | Tuesday, November 6, 2012 - 09:31 am No changes in the functionality of drones or any other weapon. Units became smaller a month ago. It was announced on the game news and on the forum before and after the change. This does not alter the way they function but we will keep running wars to check results. we would like to know about any specific weapon against specific weapon result that seems strange but such info should include the quality. |
Andy | Tuesday, November 6, 2012 - 09:36 am Gaz Drones have never shot any other airplanes out of the air. we do not think drones can do that. Drones are only effective against land targets. The weapons document has always been very clear and specific about what is effective against what. Please check that document. It is detailed and long but easy to use. look for drones and you see a table with all specs. |
Crafty | Tuesday, November 6, 2012 - 09:21 pm Andy, I believe that what happened before this AD issue was noticed is that defending forces would target the drones as well as the fighter planes so resulting in a large loss of cheap drones but fewer FPs. This also allowed more FPs per round to be available to continue the attack. Like I replied to Jonni, I have fought many major wars and C3 wars in my years here and using drones was always recommended. In fact I'm sure we could dig up many old forum posts where older war players instructed the new to do just that. For some reason players are reporting that ADs behave differently now, (I'm trying to see a way to fit fighting level into this as a reason but cant find one), so something along the line somewhere has changed. Please do a trial yourself and see. And then dig a bit further into it. Perhaps you could issue an explanation of why this now happening if it is a Q or unit size thing. Respectfully, Crafty. PS, glad you made it home safely. |
Gaz | Tuesday, November 6, 2012 - 11:10 pm Andy I know how they're supposed to work. I've used drones as sheilds countless times and they always were targeted first by the interceptors. Now the interceptors ignore them and go for the fighters. I'll test this again and post up more info for you's. |
Gaz | Tuesday, November 6, 2012 - 11:28 pm Andy pls check my country Mayhem on LU. I just tested the drones. Game date Jul 14th 3057. War level 2. The fighting quality of my combined drones/fighters was 315. Again my drones were ignored and my fighters shot first. Only after the fighter were gone did I loose drones. |
