Really wish I didn't have to keep coming back to the 'Problems' forum.

Every time I go to change the trade strategies of my country's corporations, the next month it sets back to the same thing. For instance, it doesn't matter what I set for the 'follow product quality' strategy, the next month all the corporations will be set to sell their products at 10% lower than their product quality. And I set the 'for each month products not sold, decrease price by' to an odd number (7), so there's no way the products just aren't selling and what I'm experiencing is the automatic lowering of the product sale price.

Anyway, has anyone else had this problem?

Its the 2 week rule, can't change strats for 2 weeks from start. If not that, then you need to go to your automation page and turn off (uncheck) the automatic systems. Read each one as a couple you may want to keep on, like auto reactivating weapons on attack and buying for army.

Frankly, the settings the automation gives for selling and buying aren't far from about the best you can do anyway for normal world market trading.

I think there's a mistake in the default for new countries' trading strategies, though.

I was wondering why my buying expenses were so high, untill I looked at the setup.

The default buying clearly says start at 100 'MINUS' and then the number to enter. It was set to minus 10, which means all bids started at 110.

I don't think this is a good idea for starting countries as their companies will run a deficit for quite a while before you descover what's going on.

I'd rather have some times of low input than paying 10% extra for all the raw materials that are in fact never in shortage.

But I suspect this may be unintentional and in fact the number should have been 10 and not minus 10?

No, I think you'll find it is set to buy at over market price to ensure your corps will get the supplies promptly. This is a bit over the top in my opinion but I'm not deciding these things. It really wont make a huge difference.

Your two weeks must be up by now, no?

Wait 'til your time is up, it will all change for you and you will soon forget this beginning.
