I've just spotted a serious and unrealistic fault on this game that if a corp for example that produces gasoline at 100% hiring at 100% production and uses 20000 tons of chemicals a month to make it, why is it that i've got a gasoline corp at 20% hiring at 20% production still uses 20000 tons in chemicals a month since really it should definitely be 20% of that number which would use 4000 tons of chemicals a month instead. Has anyone else noticed this fault?

Where are you getting these figures James. The reported usage of supplies is based on 100% production as it actually states on the page, maybe thats the confusion? check the figures and graph for 'raw materials used' to see whats actually happening, but it only shows totals not individual supplies unfortunately.

Maybe it is then and i'm getting my figures mainly from my own corps, i've got 2 of the same corps of which one is operating at 50% hiring and the other at 20% hiring but I have realized the figures for 'raw materials used' is different though like you said. But my biggest concern is though is the amount of 'Raw Materials Bought' as i'm sure they're buying in much more than what they should and still thinking they're consuming just as much as a corp at 100% would.

I believe contracted goods and services are figured for full production (I've had some corps process orders while employment is down due to relocating). When reducing productivity, they'll still order the same amount, but it will take longer to reach the benchmark at which they order. Same net effect - with the bonus you'll have the materials on hand when you're ready to resume full production.

The tag lines in "stock months" looks to be in error.

This is the quantity of raw material in stock, measured in the number of months it will last if the corporations continues production at current levels.

Should read at 'full production' or something along those lines, or it should show the actual difference.

Did I follow you correctly there?

Sorry for injecting myself into the conversation.

Yes, Marshal Ney is correct... and James, you are partially correct. They auto order once a certain minimum threshold is fallen below. The auto orders work the same no matter what, so at 20% production they will order the same amount once the threshold is reach as at 100% or 120% production... however, it will take longer to reach the threshold.

At least, that's how I think it works and I haven't noticed anything to make me question it.

In terms of what matters, you don't "over-use" raw materials if that's your concern. Well, sometimes they do, but that's only been noticed in Space corporations thus far. In either case, normally, the corporation will "consume" the base amount of supplies * whatever the utilization is per month even if ordering is the same.
