Hi,

I'm having trouble loading commodities measured in tons (specifically tea and beans). I can load SC Maintenance Units together with unit-based items (such as boosters).

I'm thinking it is conversion related - ie it does not either want to or know how to convert from tons to units.

Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

Is this a new B rate sci-fi movie?

or are you experimenting with a new propulsion source?

Yes... self propulsion.... saves on the booster rockets :)

What exactly did or didn't load?

Each Cargo Shuttle now has like 101,000 [space] units of storage. So, if you already load(ed) several "SC Maintenance Units" on the Cargo Shuttle, then that cargo space is reduced. So, possibly, the maintenance is causing some 'block' to loading to full capacity, or something similar.

Have you tried loading a much smaller quantity? Like say 10% of total, or 2-3% of total storage?

Some products may be listed in "tons" but actually, the space storage is not 1-to-1, but like 3-to-1 or 5-to-1 or 10-to-1, etc.

If you try loading a much smaller amount, then it should work for most every product, although some product cannot be loaded at all and are instead traded on the 'Direct Trading' market from the portal.

Also, Cargo Shuttles will not load under certain conditions. For example, if you have offered the ship for sale, it then cannot load/un-load/transport (or similar) until it has been retracted from offer. There may be other reasons, like on a Space Station, the ship has not first been docked (to load/un-load) or un-docked (to transport). Sometimes countries also have multiple Space Centers, so be sure that the ship is actually at the location to load that you think it is. :)

Thanks, but I have tried all that. I realise that tons/units are not 1-2-1 with the unit size of the shuttle too. The shuttle is at my own space centre, so I know where it is :)

Specifically..... I have tried to load a single ton of tea while nothing else was loaded. I don't think tea is 'direct sale' only. Indeed, I have tried beans and got the same problem. The shuttle is not for sale or any other problem (as I can load boosters instead of tea). I have been able to load a few SC MUs at the same time as the boosters - they took up 0.18% of capacity.

A colleague in my common market has tried the same and gets the same problem.

I've always had this problem when I started with space.

I have to use 'transport products' rather then manually loading (typically don't need to manually load anyway).

Have you tried to just set up a automatic transport?

Thanks, not tried automatic transport. I thought I'd try the simple stuff first :)

I will try later today and let you know how I get on :)

Hmmm... for automatic transport, you need to know how many of your commodity units equate to a capacity unit in order that you don't send a half empty shuttle!! I haven't seen a table anywhere that tells you, so I guess you have to do it by trial and error, starting at the max of your commodity and lowering until it fits in the space.

Anyway, in the meantime, GM have informed me of a bug in the cases where the commodity unit is less than a unit of cargo space. This has been fixed and now I can load as normal.

Thanks for the help everyone, esp GM!!
