White Darkness (Little Upsilon) | Monday, March 1, 2010 - 05:14 am Got a thrilling little problem that's messed things up for me again with these new automatic systems. Just racked up 2T in debt in a country because as best I can tell it decided to purchase ammo. Ultimately, this continues to reinforce my personal view. These "helpful" systems which I turn off are not helpful but a hindrance and add to the difficulty of doing anything I want to do in this game. I'd be overjoyed to not be randomly subjected to their "help". |
White Darkness (Little Upsilon) | Monday, March 1, 2010 - 07:07 am Some additonal information per the common market page: Contrasting two countries Monkshood and Narcissus: Monkshood goods imported for month: 129.25B SC$ Narcissus goods imported for the month: 1,133.63B SC$ |
White Darkness (Little Upsilon) | Monday, March 1, 2010 - 07:08 am Which those are totals for international trade with Monkshood being the larger country. Narcissus seemingly just arbitrarily shot up into massive purchases suddenly for no obvious reason. |
Baphomet (Little Upsilon) | Monday, March 1, 2010 - 12:32 pm Dont use the new automatic systems if you have experience on running your own things you want. When the new system was implemented,it did stuff up my country especially the education system. When I reconised it,I turned off the new atuomatic system and to it my self.Few times this did happen but takes a while for it to work with out new system.Make sure your only using the trade order strategies to order things for your country which can be set at 3 points for the low water mark and 12 points for the order quantity then click on save selected. This way,you should be able to save heaps of simcountry cash. The new features, isnt worth having if you have experience with the game. To answer the last 2 of yours,I dont know much about them.Maybe some one else might answer them. Cheers and good luck. |
Baphomet (Little Upsilon) | Monday, March 1, 2010 - 12:56 pm Also too,go into your automatic system and look under the requested quality when ordering products your country needs, click on the set quality and put in 100.In that way if you have not checked it with your stock products, they may some high in over something like 200 maybe 300 in quality if you have not set this properly either. That could be another problem too if your in debt.As for ammo supply quality, you can set at what you want. But for the main country order supplies at 100.Becareful though,as you order more quality for ammo, the price can go up I think.I have not done the order quality on ammo as I only use 100 and saves money that way. Good luck. |
White Darkness (Kebir Blue) | Monday, March 1, 2010 - 03:43 pm Baphomet, I don't use the automatic systems they built. Ever. However, I don't have much of a choice, they seem to hop in since I hover at level 4. I know what I'm doing, I want this stuff turned off and to leave me alone, but I have no choice since it refuses to deactivate or reactivated randomly. I'm vaguely amused on one level since when one kicks into play and messes things up it sends me down the levels and reactivates more. I only ever buy 100Q products anyway. |
Scarlet (Golden Rainbow) | Monday, March 1, 2010 - 09:04 pm If you have been using order strategies, perhaps there is an extra zero at the end of some product ordering strategy? I would tend to doubt it as you seem to know what you're doing, but maybe you accidentally ordered 'any quality' for a large ammo purchase? Just some thoughts. |
White Darkness (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, March 2, 2010 - 02:10 am Been fixed. Shot up to 1.6T expenditures for a month and now things are back to normal. No complaints here. |
Baphomet 666 | Tuesday, March 2, 2010 - 04:10 am Thats good, its working then.Just keep trying to deactivate the new features if you can,it takes a while. |
White Darkness (Golden Rainbow) | Wednesday, March 3, 2010 - 03:08 am They shouldn't reactivate just because a level changes. |
Tom Willard | Wednesday, March 3, 2010 - 09:55 am You can deactivate the automatic system and it will never kick in. Ammunition will be purchased automatically. This has nothing to do with the automation. Your army cost is for a large part for the use of ammunition. when stocks in the country decline, there are automatic orders. The same with sugar, bread and construction etc. If you think you have too much ammunition, you can sell it on the market and get your money back. Just make sure you have enough ammunition to prevent more automatic orders. You can also order ammunition manually and the automatic buying will never activate. |
CraftyCockney | Wednesday, March 3, 2010 - 05:51 pm WD, check your pending orders thing as frequently as you can. Cancel those ammo orders ESPECIALLY if they have gone 'immediate' as you will probably end up with high Q hence expensive. I found it best to use the order strategy page to keep the ammo levels just above what the monthly usage is for my non military mains. |
Serpent | Thursday, March 4, 2010 - 12:51 am Just buy a Gazillion of all ammo! Never have to worry then! Cant have to many bullets anyway. LOL |
White Darkness (Golden Rainbow) | Thursday, March 4, 2010 - 02:45 am Operative point here. I know where my ammo comes from, myself, it totals 29.67B monthly not counting the 10 of each I buy from the international market. As best as I've been able to determine, a lot of money got spent on nothing. However, it's not continuing to cycle upward. That's all that matters. |
Anthony King (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, March 4, 2010 - 06:52 am Since the new features, there are no teachers and vertually no senior doctors for 11 game months. Schools and hospitals are closing down. |
CraftyCockney (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, March 4, 2010 - 11:55 am Why do people post on the forums with questions and problems, and then when answered by the Gamesmaster and more experienced players, they argue the toss, refuse to listen, and blame the game for thier own stubborness in not taking any advice? Go figure. CraftyCodpiece |
Trahx (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, March 31, 2010 - 02:59 pm It's not that difficult to figure out Crafty. Without properly designed, sensible and working automatic systems a player needs to nursemaid his country. I have a full time job and it isn't playing Simcountry. I don't have time to make up for the deficiencies of those systems or the departures of the game from reality. It would be nice to know I can leave the game (for things like vacation for example) without my country going to hell because some assinine automatic system doesn't do what I think it should do or some automatic rule decides to run things the way it wants to run things. By the way, if my country has shortages of ammo, so what? The idea I have to be here all the time to cancel unwanted orders is absurd. |
