Matt | Tuesday, July 1, 2008 - 12:02 pm Ah this is a bit petty but I'd just like to point out that when you create more than one of the Special Forces units, it says, "Image Setup Special Forcess Station your new Special Forcess at an Offensive Military Airport:" In grammar, this should be conjugated as "Station your new Special forces units at an offensive military airport." basically that's it however, I'd like to make a little statement about paratroopers in the game. These Special Forces units are like elite paratroopers, and that's all good and well, but what if you want to utilise paratroopers in large amounts, like the Nazis did on Crete in WWII. They dropped supplies (so Supply Units), jeeps and light tanks, and thousands of men. So, how about two new types of paratrooper units? Defensive Paratroopers and Offensive Paratroopers. You could make defensive consist of light tanks, jeeps, armoured vehicles, and AA batteries, as well as some form of general soldier unit. Offensive units would consist of offensive missile and AA missile batteries, jeeps, armoured vehicles, and soldiers. You could then operate these in the same way as the current "Air Landings" units. Just a thought. |
John Fire (Golden Rainbow) | Tuesday, July 1, 2008 - 09:28 pm Hold it. Before we go any further, what the heck is one SF or RDU per unit gonna do? |
Quastar (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, July 1, 2008 - 10:03 pm From my understanding, SF / RDU works behind enemy line by sabotaging the infrastructure and such. I don't know if it works in the game though. (Yet to try :P) |
John R | Wednesday, July 2, 2008 - 12:23 am OMG! CAPS! Regarding the subject at hand, SFs will conquer land, attack targets and such and such. RDUs will build the airport needed to to airlift units into enemy territory. Do not forget this is a game. With this I mean we cannot transpose reality in its entirety into here, but that the reasonable course of action would be to base our features in it and adapt them to the ones already in place, having in mind all limitations and the purposes intended. |
John Fire (Golden Rainbow) | Wednesday, July 2, 2008 - 08:59 am Well, I was mostly referring to SF. I understand that 1 RDU will be used to create an airport. But with SF, I was figuring that you just drop like a unit of 1k-2k SF and it attacked normally. I'll manage, but it was real scary carrying in my previous assumption and seeing 1 SF in a unit. |
