Purpose: Overhaul the Strategic Forces to make it more realistic and more useful in a conflict.

Recommended Changes are as follows:
Name Change: Plutonium to Weapons Grade Plutonium
Ability: Strategic forces have a counter attack option similar to stealth bombers.

Strategic Military Base
Name Change: Strategic Launch Facility

Strategic Airport
Name Change: Strategic Airfield

Nuclear Missile Batteries / Nuclear Missile
Name Change Options:
ICBM Silo (Fires Intercontinental Ballistic Missile or Nuclear ICBM)
Nuclear Missile Silo (Fires Nuclear Missile)

Usage: Set up at max 50 silos per Strategic Launch Facility (Incentivizes more use of Strategic Launch Facilities and increases the cost of maintaining a strategic arsenal. Can only hold one missile per silo and then will need to be re armed with a supply unit pulling missiles out of a strategic weapon storage depot)

Range Change: Change from 5,000 miles to 7,500 miles

Changes to build: Keep cost the same
Add QTY: 8 monthly use of Weapon Grade Uranium (in addition to the plutonium because modern nuclear weapons use both plutonium and uranium in their core)
Decrease QTY to 8 for weapon grade plutonium to maintain same cost
IE: 8 Uranium and 8 Plutonium


New Unit: Strategic Weapon Storage Depot
Usage: Facility is a static unit similar to a military base. Can automatically re-supply strategic units which fire all their ammunition, similar reloading time to a supply unit. Can store up to 250 strategic weapons. Helps balance strategic weapons and serves as a valuable target for your enemy. (Basically a supply unit that can't move but can resupply within X amount of range, but can have a custom icon)

New Formation: Mobile Missile Brigade
12 Launchers per brigade (Based off Russian Rocket Brigades)

New Formation: Mobile Missile Battalion
4 Launchers per brigade (Based off Russian Rocket Brigades)

New Formation: Ballistic Missile Submarine
1 Ballistic Missile Submarine (nothing else in the formation as this is how it is in real life)

Chemical Missile Batteries / Chemical Missile & Tactical Missile Batteries
Name Change: Mobile Launcher (Mobile Short-Range Ballistic Missile Launcher modeled after a SCUD or Iskander)

Usage: Mobile Launchers are used in a Mobile Missile Unit and can carry either Chemical SRBM’s or Nuclear SRBM’s (Short-Range Ballistic Missile) Harder for Nuclear Defense Batteries to hit due to short range but very vulnerable to Battlefield threats. Chemical Weapons specialize in maximizing casualties but minimizing damage to infrastructure

Range Change: 2300 to 500 miles

Nuclear Submarine / Nuclear Submarine Missiles
Name Change: Ballistic Missile Submarine / (Fires Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile or Nuclear SLBM)

Usage: Used in a Ballistic Missile Submarine formation of one submarine armed with 18 missiles. Not visible to other players unless it fires or is being re supplied by a supply fleet

Strategic Bombers / Strategic Bombs
Usage: Set up at max 50 bombers per Strategic Airfield (Incentivizes more use of Strategic Airfields and increases the cost of maintaining a strategic arsenal. Can only hold one bomb per bomber and then will need to be re-armed with a supply unit pulling bombs out of a strategic weapon storage depot). Nuclear Defense Batteries do not target these due to them being planes with bombs leaving it up to the air units and anti air to defend making this unit unique compared to nuclear missiles.

Range Change: Change from 6,500 miles to 4,500 miles

Name Change: Strategic Bombers / Nuclear Bombs

Changes to build: Keep cost the same
Add QTY: 8 monthly use of Weapon Grade Uranium (in addition to the plutonium)
Decrease QTY to 8 for weapon grade plutonium to maintain same cost
IE: 8 uranium and 8 plutonium

Open to any feedback, most of these are just naming changes but it drives me crazy seeing it.

This is a far reaching proposal with many details.

Not sure if we need to overhaul the entire strategic force.
there must be very important reasons for it.

Making these changes, if needed, will represent a major development effort and we have a very long wish list.

I suggest you start by putting parts of this for a vote and see how players react and mainly, how many react.

don't put everything in one go because then people cannot react in details and just say yes or no to the entire proposal.
