Lord Mndz | Saturday, November 23, 2019 - 09:36 am Andy, I've promised to think about the first 30 minutes player is spending in SC. Please see the suggestion below to improve the first minutes experience. I think that procedure which selects location for new player needs to be changed to encourage collaboration and early engagement of new player. This is how it should work:
- 1. Procedure finds most active players, selects one from the list.
- 2. Procedure picks location for new player which is 2 countries away from main country of the selected active player
- 3. Message is sent to active player that new player registered the country close and he might need help and mentor
- 4. Messages are sent to all players of the region to start collaboration
- 5. Message is sent to new player to make him aware that other players in the same region are aware, communication and learning channels. It is also indicated which active player should be contacted if help and support is needed.
I think this procedure would ensure that communication with player will start asap. Also player will be playing together with most active other player which guarantee much more fun and activeness. I think this would be a very best start with immediate assistance from neighbors. What is also important to change description of statuses of the countries on the map. Saying something about experience is not right and saying that somebody might dislike you is not inviting to play at all. I would rather organize this about where to look for the help and guidance. Seeing big and bigger empires already indicate that these players know how to play and would be willing to share their experience. This would also encourage people to be more active as this would mean more new players around you. Active play®More new players around®More federations®more friends®more active players®repeat first step |
John Galt | Saturday, November 23, 2019 - 03:02 pm New players should have the option to override this though and choose where they want to go. |
Lord Mndz | Saturday, November 23, 2019 - 03:30 pm Only if they know where they want to go |

Lord Mndz | Saturday, December 28, 2019 - 10:57 am Andy, would you see any value to implement this? Our experience says that Simcountry is pretty complex game so getting mentors from the very beggining is important to keep engagement high. Most active players are also most engaged and they would be even more engaged to train new players. |
dubletar | Sunday, December 29, 2019 - 04:18 pm Speaking honestly, I would hate this XD. Also, I think this would be ripe for abuse. If I see active players building around me, paying players, building large countries with high population, that have expanded and gained 3+ slave states, it would allow me to declare war on them and take their assets. I think this would really open the door to massive abuse. New players would be at the mercy of established players. I think the place new players go should be random, however, I do like the idea of messages going out saying that a new president has risen. |
Lord Mndz | Sunday, December 29, 2019 - 07:16 pm As John has suggested there might be an option to chose if you want to be placed close to some very active president or chose random as now. |
