Vladian Enache | Friday, October 18, 2019 - 10:21 am The biggest obstacle for the game popularity imo is the huge clicking and input you have to do. From 10 years ago to today nothing has changed but times have changed a lot, the way people play games changed a lot. Try to reduce the input, not by reducing complexity but by offering more ways to make automated batch decisions. Like: Autofill all fields on buy, sell, transfer products. Make filters for products and shortcuts to autofill and sell/buy so it takes 2 clicks to sell/buy 20 product types. Space things take an eternity to move few amounts of res. Make automated routes for shuttles so you dont have to open and click 100 windows over 5 days to move 100k of something. War clicking is enourmous. Make macros. Make an unit repeatedly atack multiple objectives until it gets to a % strength or something. Make conditional sell/buy orders, like sell something from stock if market price is over 75% (example) of max capped price imo is good to make improvements on game base mechanics but if someone has to click to many times, when there can be a way to reduce clicking without reducing game complexity, it won't stick as a player etc |
Vladian Enache | Friday, October 18, 2019 - 10:45 am For example in war, after theres no defences you could have an option like automatic cleanup click and a winddow with all your units pop ups where you can select some, select auto targets so you select 3 units for example, 3 clicks. select 3 auto targets , counties, cities, forts = 3 clicks another radio button options 1 = run until war is won options 2 = make X attacks (input a number, lets say 20 atacks) another selection, run attacks until unit strength = 75% of full power (should be poping up with a default number so no input there) Click atack, let the game make 50 repeated atacks and done. you can even watch them having a button stop, as you can make them 1 by 1, as a user would do them , but without the user having to click anything |
John Galt | Friday, October 18, 2019 - 01:30 pm Vlad space already has automation features. Click on space center, then transport requests. I agree with most of this though |
Andy | Monday, October 21, 2019 - 03:51 pm I agree. lots of work to do there. |
