M Bilal Arain | Saturday, October 5, 2019 - 11:30 am I Think We Can Make Wars Even Long term Too Against AI Or Players, Look like Roleplaying. How ? By Attacking Them Through One Side And Occupying That Little Part and On the Other side They May choose to resist.Medium Resist Or High Resist. It will Boost In Offense and defense Weapons. One More thing A country Can Be attacked By More Players and Could be defend by More players too. Like Allies. a real war situation . Like a Country targeted as A war Hub For Powers To Show Their Power. And Making a War Long Lasting... If You Have more Ideas On this Please Comment. |
Lord Mndz | Saturday, October 5, 2019 - 05:22 pm I think the key thing is occupation of country when you do map painting. If that process would be much slower that would allow defending predident or his allies to come back to fight. |
Andy | Tuesday, October 8, 2019 - 08:57 am Bilal, You need to look at the current C3 wars. Also, we have fed wars and war treaties. Lord M, I never heard any comment about the rate of painting being too fast. Is it the case also when there are defending units? |
Lord Mndz | Tuesday, October 8, 2019 - 07:10 pm Hi Andy, let me explain how I see this. Currently you destroy targets, garnisons and military units, then you do painting to get needed index points to win a war. Painting is occupation of the country and you get the points when some area is painted. It has no window of how long you should keep it occupied to get points therefore for the defending party it is nearly impossible to remove painting. Imagine if you would need to wait for 1-2 game months to get these points if painting is not removed by defending country. During this time defending country would be able to fight back, war would not end in an hour or so. This would only apply for pvp of course. |
John Galt | Tuesday, October 8, 2019 - 10:32 pm We need to brainstorm a way to incorporate a limited war that does not end in conquest. Like how America sometimes bombs other countries without invading them or declaring a full on war. I think an expansion of the sneak attack system would be ideal. Allow any weapon system to be used, not just cruise missiles, and give the player the option to hide their identity or not. Number of attacks allowed per game month could be increased to maybe 5-10 per country. This would encourage players to deploy defence forces 24/7, even in peace time and would give players an avenue to do limited strikes on others without requiring a full on war. |
Lord Mndz | Wednesday, October 9, 2019 - 08:40 pm Agreed, i also think that most pvp wars are in favor of attacker. If you plan some attack you don't risk much, even if you lose your attacking army. |
Andy | Friday, October 11, 2019 - 09:13 am Painting is counted every game month to compute the war index. If your enemy takes the area back, the war index will increase. (I will check how this happens and in which cases and how fast). We have made it possible, quite some time ago, to win a war without painting but it is easier if you do. Slower painting is difficult, but I will look into it anyway. We do want to make sneak attacks more important and it is a form of a limited war. We are trying to add war incentives to Simcountry and conquering another country will make sense. At the same time, we keep the possibility to play peacefully. |
John Galt | Friday, October 11, 2019 - 12:40 pm Andy to save you some time, war index from painting is computed after every attack. If I paint the entire country but no side makes any attack, nothing will change. The moment an attack happens, the change in war score will be reflected in the attack report. So sometimes if a lot of painting happens, you can see a massive change in war score from attacking a very insignificant target, like a town or county. |
