Cassett Navasse | Monday, January 21, 2019 - 09:29 pm To increase community participation and collaboration, I was wondering whether automated recruitment messages for federations and common markets, similar to the mechanism that the NationStates API allows recruitment messages/telegrams for regions, could be introduced (https://www.nationstates.net/pages/api.html#telegrams). This could allow experienced players to proactively message new players so that they immediately know about the various Federations and Common Markets they could go to. Sending many recruitment messages at a time could be monetized as well, in a similar manner to how NationStates monetizes "Telegram Stamps" (effectively allowing one to instantly send many messages to any group of nations of their choice) (scroll to the bottom of this link: https://www.nationstates.net/page=store). For NationStates, this monetizing of mass messages/telegrams has actually been a large source of income for them, to the point that premium memberships on the website only add more telegram features rather than anything else to one's account. Could this perhaps be implemented in Simcountry? |
SuperSoldierRCP | Tuesday, January 22, 2019 - 07:18 pm This is already in effect and several messages are provided to the Leader of the group, as well as a general message for the players of an organization. As for recruitment I don't think this is a good idea to mass spam messages. We have a cap on how many people can be in a federation or common market and they tend to fill up quite fast. The issue isn't recruitment as much as available interactions within the groups themselves. The groups would be much more effective if they had more options or perks added to them. Things like adding "Common market fund" similar to the UN Security council. Maybe have a 15T cap in place in terms to available funding. The funds would be all donation based by the players of a common market and they Common market via a vote could choose who and how much to gift a player in that organization. This could help with economic team building, collaboration, and disaster relief. Simcountry suffers a rare flaw in gaming in my option. They have a VERY solid base to build off of, their problem is perfecting what they already have. We don't need more we need refined. |
Michael | Monday, April 22, 2019 - 12:11 am @SuperSoldierRCP - That is a great idea. I have said that before, about a year ago, that something needs to be done to make federations and common markets more interesting and appealing. Establishing an emergency fund for federations and common markets that all members could chip in to and then utilize if needed is an awesome idea. The current emergency funding from the Security Council on each world does nothing in my mind and is rather useless. One new player said it before innovate the game, innovate the design. |
Michael | Monday, April 22, 2019 - 12:18 am @SuperSoldierRCP - I also agree on recruitment as I have been in various federations in the past and only a select few are quite active with lots of communication between the players. The federations that survive and last are the ones where there is great interaction between the member players. Heck the chat is not even being used on here anymore. |
