If I run out of teachers the game demolishes schools. Would it be possible to close them instead, being able to reopen them when I have the teachers? It would make more sense.

This was discussed many times before.
It will make the education system much more complex if we add another category of schools, high schools and universities that are closed but remain in some way.

The education priority page is probably the most important page to look at.
You immediately see if there are shortages in any of the workers groups, including teachers and university teachers and you know what to do about it.

You need to check that page from time to time.

Yeah, I understand that. I've had to really check when I build things like schools and hospitals that I have enough help - the fact that you will have them next month doesn't seem to help
