gmm54 | Sunday, February 28, 2016 - 04:51 am We need a large new update to this game. Meaning by these topic in general. Navy - That works and is powerful just as it is in the real world. Corporation - new type of products/markets so that its makes it newer. Customize loan rates and ability to give loans out Ability to build in space or even space wars. Stock market that is easier to understand and every day updates instead of every month updates. Intelligence departments Easier financial tracking for people so we can see where we are losing money and how we can fix it. Simpler financial statements so new people can understand it. The end of war levels for countries that are slave/satelite states. Easier War fighting model that is simpler for new players. Eliminate the limits on enterprises are allowed to put in countries. Federations limits and common market limits are unlimited. Customized citizen taxes Let there be police Let there be riots when people are not happy. Civil wars in countries. Overthrowing govt besides home base countries (just allow mass riots in those countries and or rebellions) Let military ammunition be the same price as it is in the real world. Little more animation (depending on how it would effect the game) so and option if we want to turn it off. These things need to be added but something needs to be done to appeal to new players. We also need a marketing campaign |
Aries | Sunday, February 28, 2016 - 07:10 am Nice enthusiasm. A mess of topics on a single thread makes discussion on any single one of them messy. A better format is one idea on one thread with the reason the suggestion would be useful and improve game-play. I fail to see how many of the ideas above would solve some problem in the game or be a fun addition. A number of other ideas here are not explained, like what is "easier" war fighting? What would the Intelligence department do? How would you change the navy (I would disagree with the perception that it is not powerful)? etc etc. |
gmm54 | Monday, February 29, 2016 - 02:18 am Just make it simpler for newer players. It's not as simple when your trying to find ways or different combinatorial to win a war. But also the interface needs to be easier. Especially going to that country |
Aries | Monday, February 29, 2016 - 02:53 am Simple is following my C3 war guide on the Beginners Forum. Doesn't get simpler. Glad I could implement the fix for that one. Guess we are all done here. |
10brownr | Tuesday, March 1, 2016 - 08:05 pm lol...well that escalated quickly |
gmm54 | Wednesday, April 20, 2016 - 02:19 am again we need to bring more players to the game because i feel as if simcountry is dying and were not doing anything about it .... |
Sheepman | Tuesday, April 26, 2016 - 12:22 am because there isent anything you can do about it, been down this road with other dying games before once it gets to a point enough long term players dont give a little rats ass anymore, and new players die off, thats really it. I dont like being a nay sayer about anything really but this is the reality of it, and theres lots of things that really its almost just better to over haul the entire game at this rate and rebuild it. |
Otaku Prince | Wednesday, June 22, 2016 - 05:43 pm I agree with the navy and intelligence part. For navy, I would like to see submarines having better role in warfare than just bombing cities to a nuclear annihilation and sinking ship. In real world, submarines have a lot of roles. Intelligence and surveillance gathering, data collection, deployment bases for spies and commandos, area denial systems, sinking trading ships and the means for enforcing blockades and ground and sea support. And as for espionage and diplomacy, I hope we can deploy spies on anyone (really, I want to see what my neighbors are doing covertly). Espionage assignments like seeing your neighbors military infrastructure like seeing the number and quality of your neighbor's weaponry, nuclear sabotage where we can destroy our neighbor's nuclear stockpile and corporations, economic espionage and sabotage where we can steal money, sabotage the economy, or burn the corporations of countries and enterprises, force other countries to go to war with each other (its good for the defense contractors), terrorism, color revolutions and civil wars and many more. There are a lot of things you can do with espionage and diplomacy (no really there's a lot of it you can do - so many things that indeed that in real world, many nations flourished just because they have powerful intelligence and diplomats). I know the old time players here are bored as $@%* because they are so powerful and so rich, there's nothing they can do anymore. If the game changes (major changes which requires the game to be change from the ground up), it might keep the old players in and more new players in. Afterall, there is no game out there the resembles anything like Simcountry. But I know I wont happen. With Simcountry's infrastructure, its hard. Too bad. |
Aries | Wednesday, June 22, 2016 - 09:42 pm The systems related to roles for weapons, such as submarines, is not perfect but is very fair and balanced right now. The last major weapons update was one related to navies and led to some very damaging unbalanced warfare that was left uncorrected for some time. Being very familiar with the war system, I would suggest some minor changes to a few weapons but I have accepted how things work and I am simply thankful that the current system has a very good balance. Espionage is tricky to properly implement due to several design decisions in the game. The presence of game protections, such as secured mode, "temporary war protection", and war levels, removes much of the risk players should face if they were to be behind damaging covert operations. An imperfect and slow system to respond to multi-accounts also means that these types of actions should also certainly be limited to premium membership. Further, the realities of stocking cash and weapons means that these assets are unlikely to be found in countries, especially if a new vulnerability to espionage were to be introduced into the game. Cash can be moved to a player's enterprise or simply to their "account". Much of the game's most well-armed players already store their weapons in enterprises. Are enterprises to be vulnerable to espionage? Are enterprises to have access to covert ops? If yes and yes, wouldn't my enterprise devoid of corporations, or other target-able assets, be the ideal tool to work my sabotages? The ability to "sabotage" an economy also has some issues. Would game protections protect you from this, such as war level and secured mode? If these systems do provide protection, you have a new system that will further discourage players from leaving these protections. Already, the vast majority of players never leave these protections, indeed, even on the "war world". Alternatively, if these systems do not provide protection for sabotages, much of what players want to see in progress in building their nations can be wiped away at a whim. This can lead to players who are interested in more of the economy-side of the game to leave. This would be counter-intuitive to the goals of these suggestions. Lots to consider when simply throwing ideas around. A more social game environment with new players would be nice but be careful that the remedy is not worse than the disease. I still favor the suggestions that add incentives for players to remove game protections. Game protections have become a substitute for players to interact and be a part of their game worlds, in my view. A more social game world must be based in players who must consider interaction with other players to be successful, or even survive. |
jacksonz24 | Thursday, July 14, 2016 - 01:30 am yea and make easy for bigger guy to attack noobs i don't like the whole remove the war protection thing |
John West | Thursday, July 14, 2016 - 05:38 am I had started a vote to remove war level protection that won by a wide margin, yet mysteriously disappeared... The vote said continue to allow secured mode for leader country (except on FB where this is no secured mode), as well continue to allow temporary war protections for any countries, but remove war level protection of all countries on all worlds. but as I said, record of the vote was, apparently, deleted. That doesn't really bother me, though. I understand that SimCountry is not a democracy, and that all these votes are merely suggestions. I'm just pointing out that I don't expect the war level system as it is to ever change. |
