SirSmokesAlot | Wednesday, May 13, 2015 - 02:50 am I would like to see Game Cash trades for Gold coins reconsidered. It would make the game more enjoyable and open up a lot more of the game play. |
jadam3216 | Wednesday, May 13, 2015 - 03:36 am YEAH GAME MASTER THIS FEATURE SHOULD BE ADDED ON TOO THE DIRECT TRADE SYSTEM ALSO BRING BACK VIRTIUAL ASSET TRANFERS WHERE WE CAN SEND GAME MONEY TO OTHER PLAYERS AGAIN. |
Jonni | Wednesday, May 13, 2015 - 07:01 pm Sending game money to other players was a much abused feature. I'm afraid there is no way to reintroduce this without having the same thing happen. |
SirSmokesAlot | Wednesday, May 13, 2015 - 10:38 pm How about just the game cash for gold coins part of the suggestion??? |
SirSmokesAlot | Saturday, May 16, 2015 - 01:44 am I believe that this could add liquidity to the space market allow it to increase. |
Orbiter | Saturday, May 16, 2015 - 02:09 pm smokes, i'd disagree, their isn't much point to paying GC equal to conversion cost, to buy something you could just buy anyway, using GC to buy stuff, should give you "buying power," GC is a limited resource, much more so than game cash, if you could convert game cash into GC, their wouldn't be any advantage to selling in space, at a price that would give the buyer a deal. as it is, the only significant way to make GC, with out using your card, is game level awards (a one time deal,) monthly awards, (law of dimishing returns,) or to sell material in space at a discount. their is a considerable amount of space trade, as long as prices stay low, if you where able to sell your cash for GC, why would you sell material, at 1/3 the cash cost? and unless a player can get material at a significant discount, their is no point in them going into space, buying shuttles, renting/buying a dock, just to pay base price? |
SirSmokesAlot | Sunday, May 17, 2015 - 05:17 am I appreciate your thoughts Josias. Here is the flip side to the coin. Even with the game awards and level awards there is just not enough GC to go around (taking away people buying gc with cc) They have to find another way to insert some more liquidity into the market. trading a least some game cash for gc would do that maybe in some sort of limited way??? there are some things that you can't buy on the space market that is sucking alot of gc out of circulation like pop and professional soldiers. Secondly the more gc you have chasing a limited amount of products like on the space market. The more gc you can get for the product. There are other reasons to buy on the space market other than a discounted price. For instance it is faster to build up your army using the space market especially when at war. you also get a higher quality of weapons on the space market. My last reason. I and others that i know have too much game cash that is just sitting around with nothing productive to do with it. Yes i can and do buy surplus product off the market then reinsert it back into the market with there is a shortage making plenty of game cash only increasing my problem. Maybe one solution would be to let players buy pop with game cash. This would give a player a way to effectively use his or her game cash to expand their empire. |
Orbiter | Sunday, May 17, 2015 - 02:21 pm in reguards to your first 2 points, when you could spend the night raiding C3s, and walk away with hundreds of GC, it did nothing to generate any interest in space. you where their. the common mindset in simcountry, is that if you don't make a profit, you wont do it. if cash was traded for GC, their would be no price in space trade, that would benefit both the buyer and the seller. as at any price, either one would be getting less than they would get by trading with the inanimate computer their was even a time, when do to financial fees, a player lost more game cash, than the value of GR. the GM forced players to convert that cash into GC. with those thousands of GC out their, space trade, outside of Carina (nukes,) just didn't happen as far as the last one, i could go for that, or even being able to insert cash into your IFs, that would encourage immigration, as your population benefits from a rich country. or any other reason that your population to make more babies, or entice more immigrants. |
Orbiter | Sunday, May 17, 2015 - 02:46 pm when the game masters removed the cash to GC conversion, i reset my account, i felt that it was a violation of customer trust. i still do, smokes, people like you and me, built up multi-world empires, based on the fact that our skill would not only give us the GC to maintain them, but also defend them, and use them to be sim-powerful so, feeling betrayed, and needing to refocus my attention on my family, rather than constantly being a knuckle head in a computer game. i reset my account, i'd done it before, deleting thousands of hours of work, knowing that i've got the skill to rebuild a modest, manageable, fun empire, staying under WL2, so i wouldn't be forced to commit time i didn't want. how ever, being a 4/month guy, looking at the higher peaceful levels, i was at a loss to figure out how monthly awards, and level awards would support the registration of 2 CEOs, and buy enough pop to reach the higher levels. having always been very good at build space shuttles, i decided to give that a try, at the time, they where going for over 2GC, seemed easy, 2-3 shuttle corps, could generate enough GC to keep me treading water, 12, would get me where i wanted to go. but for some reason, offering the best shuttles, at the best price... i was hearing crickets, so i started lowering the price, and people started buying, the lower i got, the more people bought. it generated enough GC for me to invest in mobiles, same thing, 25+ GC for mobiles, crickets, 17.5, one guy bank rolled me. 5-8, and i couldn't make them fast enough. (I eventually compensated that guy,) eventually, the mobile fad passed, but not before i made enough to start strong on Cervus, fighters, pb, sb, and ammo, and that has only improved, i've probably made nearly 10K total, most i've reinvested into expanding space, and generating even more business. the bottom line, if you sell on space, equal to the GC conversion, you'll get nothing, you have to offer things at a price that is difficult to resist. 1/3 to 1/4 the GC price. but why do that, if you can just convert your cash into GC? so what i felt was the GM stabbing their long term customers in the back, i've been able to convert in a game of its own. silver lining, i guess shrug |
