ian Cameron | Tuesday, August 5, 2014 - 09:13 pm I don't think a worlds community should be able to vote on resolutions. Enacting a proposal or resolution is the power of being on the security council. There are times where the Sc sees that someone needs aid and the proposal passes, but then the community gets to vote and some people are ass' or don't like the person that vote is for and decline it or just plain don't understand and thus don't vote. Centralize the Security council, make it so they hold the actually power they are supposed to be awarded. The White Giant Sc has 511 trillion dollars and aid proposals get passed by us, but then it goes to the community and they vote it down. It honestly doesn't make sense, when the UN proposes something, the UN votes on it, not the billions of people residing in UN countries. |
Aries | Tuesday, August 5, 2014 - 09:49 pm Careful, the countries' populations are not voting on this. World leaders are. Indeed, U.N resolutions do have general votes of meaning. The game needs more interaction in some areas and not less. This is an area where I think the right amount of consent is needed. Security council members indeed need to propose and pass the resolution before others get their say. At that point, let the member make his case in the forum or chat. There is a terrible lack of game communication between players in this game and some game play rules have supported this, like war levels. Lets not evolve other areas of the game towards rewarding more solitary play. btw, I voted for the resolution but this message was not the best to sell me: "Seriously, we passed it but the international community and either full of idiots or uncaring rogue nations, this nation requires financial aid, we have 511 Trillion dollars, this is literally like stepping on a ant in our pockets, let's do this" |
ian Cameron | Wednesday, August 6, 2014 - 12:18 am I used the UN as I couldn't think of a world equivalent to the SC besides them. I guess a more detailed way of saying it is, "When the Un votes on something they vote, not them and the countries not part of the UN" The country in question is a Union country, and you know first hand that we've had problems with the WG and intergalactic communities and I believe that is a reason why the proposal first got shot down and was needed to be brought back up. I know you've been crusading for better War content, and I agree with a lot of the things you've been requesting, even though I only understand little of it and if I was a actual war player would be down for almost everything you ask for. But was is not the only thing in Simcountry country that is lacking in content, the Sc, corporations, immersion, the insane amount of workers required for a elementary school or a hospital (seriously I walk into a hospital and maybe see 100 workers, during an emergency there may be a few thousand but definitely not the numbers this game requires), and the levels required to actually be able to build a corporation that can actually turn a profit I believe are to high. PS: I want my porn industry and my damn trains, make it happen Andy ;) |
