Rage Fury | Monday, December 9, 2013 - 06:03 pm Eliminate the cap on the Number of corporations you can own Stock in or increase it substantially. This cap does not make much sense to me and it limits the part of the game I like most. |
Ebenezer Screw | Tuesday, December 10, 2013 - 12:12 pm I'm interested for my strategy. What is the limit? I'm over 500 now and the only issue I have had is not being able to build new corporations because I have too many. I think I hit that barrier around 200, maybe 300, though I'm not a premium member (yet) and that might have an impact. |
Borg Queen | Tuesday, December 10, 2013 - 12:36 pm Refering to the Documentation: " The number of corporations per enterprise is unlimited but increasing the number above 700 is not very easy. The max number of corporations that a CEO can start in other countries or directly purchase from others is 700. A CEO can purchase shares of corporations on the share market and try to become the largest shareholder. Once the CEO is the largest shareholder, the corporation is added to the holdings of the enterprise. There is no limit to the number of corporations a CEO can add to her/his holdings using this procedure. " So for you Ebenezer it might be that you are limited due to free membership, dont know which limitations are there for CEOs. Rage, are you prem? Are all those corps you own shares in controlled by other players? May be you can only have a maximum none-owned corps you may have Shares from. |
Rage Fury | Tuesday, December 10, 2013 - 04:19 pm I am Premium. I have a Majority Share Holdings in 206 Corporations, Minority share holding in 299 Corporations and I Privately own 304 Corporations. I have gotten the message a few times now. "You already have shares in 505 public corporations." Where 505 is the n number of holdings I own prior to the Game Month change. I liquidate a couple positions then add a few and generally after the Game Month changes, I get the message telling me I have reached the limit. So it appears once the Game recognizes I am below 500, if I had the inclination, I could buy to my hearts content until the next Game Month change. Which would be tedious and annoying. I did see the Documentation on the Shareholdings, which prompted my Suggestion: 15. Share buying by Enterprises [ top ] Enterprises can trade freely in any shares. Orders for shares are always limited in size. Currently the limit is 5% of the shares of any corporation. Enterprises are limited to 200 different shares and may not purchase any shares if their holdings in a corporation is above 51%. The limitations may be changed in time. Share purchases by enterprises are always by the user and are not performed automatically. |
Rage Fury | Tuesday, December 10, 2013 - 04:27 pm BTW, most of my Share Holdings are for the dividends. I don't want to sell the majority of them. I also have a few holdings in My Fed and CM to assist them in retaining Ownership while they get the benefit of a Majority sub 24% position. So I cannot sell those either. Thus I have issues with the cap limiting the expansion of my Portfolio and increasing my Dividend payout. |
Ebenezer Screw | Tuesday, December 10, 2013 - 07:03 pm Thanks BQ, that quote has reminded me that I read it somewhere some time ago! For the record, I currently have 504 corporations, of which 48 are wholly owwned. In addition, I have minority shareholding in a further 10. I have not had the same warning message, even though my holding is over 502! |
Rage Fury | Tuesday, December 10, 2013 - 08:29 pm Is the 48 Private and part of the 504? If so that leaves 466 + 10 and you should not be receiving the message just yet going by my experiences. If not, then I am jealous. |
Andy | Tuesday, December 10, 2013 - 10:37 pm private corporations don't count. |
Rage Fury | Wednesday, December 11, 2013 - 02:31 am Hey Andy. My issue was not with Private Corporations. If this, what Borg Queen quoted, is still true: "A CEO can purchase shares of corporations on the share market and try to become the largest shareholder. Once the CEO is the largest shareholder, the corporation is added to the holdings of the enterprise. There is no limit to the number of corporations a CEO can add to her/his holdings using this procedure." Then I should not be receiving this message: "You already have shares in 505 public corporations." |
Andy | Saturday, December 14, 2013 - 04:10 pm There is no limit to the number of corporations a CEO can add to her/his holdings using this procedure." I don't know where this statement comes from? As an enterprise owner, you can have Ii think up to 750 corporations. The number can become higher if you gain control of public corporations but there is definately a limit. |
Rage Fury | Sunday, December 15, 2013 - 02:29 am I will have to look, it wasn't my quote originally. |
Rage Fury | Sunday, December 15, 2013 - 03:33 am The quote "There is no limit to the number of corporations a CEO can add to her/his holdings using this procedure." is from the Documentation under: Enterprise Corporations #13. The number of Corporations in an enterprise |
Ebenezer Screw | Sunday, December 15, 2013 - 12:54 pm Correct RF, I have now reached the same problem and have mentioned it in the help and problem threads. In addition, Andy has promised to look at the 200 or so limit I hit whereby I cannot not build any. I now have over 500 and totally stuck as I cannot build and cannot buy shares, so a limit of, say, 750 seems somewhat artificial. Unlimited, as in the text, even more so! |
Andy | Wednesday, December 18, 2013 - 12:01 pm I will check the text and make sure it is correct. The limit of 750 is for full members. it is 300 for free members and of course, you can add more through stok purchasing. |
Borg Queen | Wednesday, December 18, 2013 - 04:33 pm Andy, if 1500 is the max you can get with 2 CEOs on a world it would be nice to have a little space between max game lvl and maxed out numbers of CEO Corps. Just for the case of having max game lvl and someone hostile bids on corps it would be better to have some kind of buffer even if its only 10 Corps or so |
