Ebenezer Screw | Tuesday, December 3, 2013 - 03:26 am When searching for countries to build new corporations or moving existing ones, you can use radio buttons to filter all countries or countries without presidents. I'm sure I'm not alone in only moving corporations to countries with presidents, so it would be really useful to have a new radio button with that filter. Thank you! |
Andy | Tuesday, December 3, 2013 - 11:16 am Thanks for the suggestion. It is however unclear what exactly you want this filter to do? |
Ebenezer Screw | Tuesday, December 3, 2013 - 12:59 pm Show me 'just countries with presidents' please! |
Ebenezer Screw | Wednesday, December 4, 2013 - 09:23 am Just to be clear.... Currently, there are options to find tax rates, welfare rates and expected hiring rates. You can do so either for all countries (one radio button) or for countries without presidents (the other radio button). I would like to see the equal and opposite to the 'without presidents' button, ie giving me a list of countries that match the rates I have asked for but are only countries with incumbent presidents. Many thanks! |
Andy | Wednesday, December 4, 2013 - 09:41 am Thanks. I will look into it and put it on our short term wish list. |
Ebenezer Screw | Wednesday, December 4, 2013 - 03:50 pm Many thanks. Given what is already there, I doubt it is a major software upgrade! |
Borg Queen | Wednesday, December 4, 2013 - 04:36 pm Btw when talking about Filters in Country searches: I often come across an issue about searching criterias. I look for max 20% Tax, min 120% Welfare and min 90% Hiring and get no results. So I change the numbers max 30% Tax, min 120% Welfare and min 90% Hiring and get results with countries with less then 20% Tax. And when I change back to max 20% Tax, min 120% Welfare and min 90% Hiring it's again no results. Those numbers are just an example of the mechanic of that 'bug', not absolute numbers. Those searches are made in a timeframe of about 1 Minute so I guess it's not caused of Gaming Updates in that timeframe. Anyone else experienced this? |
maclean | Thursday, December 5, 2013 - 09:45 am I have, many times. Didn't want to complain and risk getting silenced. |
Ebenezer Screw | Thursday, December 5, 2013 - 09:48 am Yes, I have had many similar experiences. What I have noticed: 1. For the default search, there only ever seems to be 2 pages of countries when pressing 'next page'. However, you can sometimes get more by using the 'search again' button instead. I'm sure there are many more countries that really fit the default. 2. I often get a 'page reset' result when using my own figures. Is there a bandwidth or other setting an issue here, or just a really long time doing the search. 3. I tend to use the 'search again' button several times when using my own figures. I often get 2 or 3 countries first time, then a whole page after the third or fourth try. 4. Using the default search with different corporations within a few seconds (well, maybe a minute!) of each other will often yield considerably different results. 5. Corporations that fall into my search should fall into the default search (which is broader almost by definition), but rarely do because the default appears limited to 2 pages (as above). But... I guess these comments are more suited to the problems page than the suggestions page! I had been contemplating posting something there soon. |
Rage Fury | Friday, December 6, 2013 - 09:30 pm "Anyone else experienced this? " Yep. My searches generally are 29% Tax, Welfare 96% and Hiring 85%. What I actually want is a welfare of about 115%-120%, Hiring 100% and Tax of about 25% or lower. However the stricter the criteria the more empty searches you get, has been my experience. What I do is keep hitting next and get no results repeatedly, while after several clicks I get one or two hits and then finally I get a list of results where one or two of the Countries suits me. It seems like a waste of server resources to show zero hits repeatedly, when people will simply keep clicking since they know Countries exist within their search criteria. |

Ebenezer Screw | Friday, January 24, 2014 - 03:49 pm Andy, Ref your message as the 5th in this thread, do you have a timescale for me to be getting excited about its implementation, given it is on a short term wish list!!?? Many thanks. |
Andy | Saturday, January 25, 2014 - 10:59 am There are good ideas here and we will add them to our wish list. I cannot give you a time scale as we are very busy here but there are several ideas around that do not require many development days and we will try to add ASAP. |
Ebenezer Screw | Saturday, January 25, 2014 - 02:55 pm OK thanks. Good luck with it all |
Andy | Tuesday, January 28, 2014 - 11:08 pm It is now with an engineer who will get to it but probably not on time for the next update. |
