Rich Coyle | Friday, May 3, 2013 - 11:11 pm When You win a war against another country, it should become part of your country and not be a whole other country. |
Jark Valiga | Saturday, May 4, 2013 - 04:40 am How many times has this been suggested? |
Borg Queen | Saturday, May 4, 2013 - 10:38 pm Well Jark, I guess allways one more time then you think it was |
Andy | Sunday, May 5, 2013 - 12:27 am maybe read the voting news and find out what we said in all the previous times. It did not happen with any ampire in the past, and certainly, the largest empire of all, the British, did not do it. It will also trivialize many aspects of the game. It will not happen. |
XON Xyooj | Tuesday, May 28, 2013 - 12:23 pm though mongols was the largest empire on planet earth at one time, or is it the british empire? if so they i should have failed history |
Borg Queen | Tuesday, May 28, 2013 - 06:02 pm Well, xon is right Andy, that would be the mongols large parts of asia and some Party of europe, totaling 44 mio. km², the brits had part of America, part of Africa, part of Asia and Australia, totaling 34 mio km² so they fall quite short on the comparison |
Andy | Tuesday, May 28, 2013 - 10:59 pm My point is not about the largest empire. The point is, that even in the large empires, they did not merge countries. Napoleon put all his family members in charge of countries that were part of the empire. The countries continued to function separately. same with the British, the Germans etc. Let alone in Simcountry, where countries join and leave empires at a high pace. They must be run separately and as complexity is on the increase, players must make a trade off, looking at advantages and disadvantages of having a large empire. |
Space313 | Wednesday, May 29, 2013 - 04:28 am I think the people before are confusing "colonisation", to "annexation", but that aspect would indeed revolutionise Simcountry, but I believe it's not necessary. |
Antonio Cameron | Friday, May 31, 2013 - 03:44 am add another choice to when you conquer a country, the choice to just raid, the choice to make it part of the empire, or the choice of annexation. |
XON Xyooj | Friday, June 21, 2013 - 11:01 am so i was correct that mongols had the largest empire on planet earth? :D in sc, i would say as one country should be easier to manage, rather then then having to go to say 5 pages to manage 5 countries, and trying to remember which countries have what corporations producing what products already. players should also have the option that if you own a whole region, then you should be able to rename that region too |
Tallisibeth na Colliete | Saturday, June 22, 2013 - 10:29 pm And most likely, that will never happened. If that were to happen, then a lot of regions will be renamed so many times that it will be hard to remember. Besides, why would you want to annex another country whose population is most likely not going to like you? |
XON Xyooj | Saturday, June 22, 2013 - 11:31 pm i didn't think that sc has incorporated the cultural/multicultural aspects to this game? am i missing something? i would think that until the day that we players can define that this is a greek, german, american, asian, etc then we would worry about cultural integration of populations in this game. |
ssnyali | Wednesday, July 17, 2013 - 04:42 am why not arab? hmmm, i smell a racist! :P |
madpraxis722 | Wednesday, July 17, 2013 - 01:42 pm I want to point out that the reason the mongols took over so much land and actually kept it was because they did NOT annex into their 'country'. They gave them a choice between a) joining our empire, stay in charge, pay us a cut of taxes, listen when (if) we make demands...or b) we will kill the current rulers who didn't choose a, put others in charge and give them the choice again. Needless to say, people chose option a, leading to the 'omfgtwfbbq' size of the mongol empire and some silly easy conquests when the people in charge had the people not in charge realize that they could keep themselves alive by NOT fighting. Note, this is what I was taught over twenty or so years ago in school, god knows what they say now >.> Yes, there was looting, pillaging, and all those hijinks, but honestly, everyone in europe was busy doing that to themselves anyways so it wasn't really anything new... |
XON Xyooj | Thursday, July 18, 2013 - 11:34 am is saying i'm arab, similar to saying i'm asian, or i'm african, or i'm american? we're all humans, so people in sc are just humans. mongols are earth humans, they had a great large empire perhaps they got a better war strategy then the others at that time on earth. give credits where they are due, no excuse around it |
Ian Cameron | Thursday, July 18, 2013 - 06:24 pm On this topic....... When the Spanish and the Moors fought and the Spanish pushed into Moor Territory the land they conquered became Spanish territory, it didn't remain moorish territory as it became part of the Spanish nation. Colonies formed by governments are colonies of that governments nation and subsequently part of said nation. The current American land holdings used to be part of Great Britain but were called British Colonies. They were still part of Britain. |
XON Xyooj | Sunday, July 21, 2013 - 04:18 pm it all depends on the gm, they/he can choose to do whatever he wished or wanted. for us players, it would be nice to have the ability to combine many countries into a big countries |
Diminic Cameron | Sunday, July 21, 2013 - 09:42 pm yea, like capture 4 regions and form 1 province out of them with a cool name.. |
XON Xyooj | Sunday, July 21, 2013 - 11:38 pm yep naming your own country, as big as you want. but i think the beauty of it is to manage everything as one unity, instead of going into 4 separate countries to manage the details (all indexes). per the documentation, if each country is about the size of an american state, then perfect to united them to form a country |
Tallisibeth na Colliete | Tuesday, July 23, 2013 - 09:53 pm But remember, each state in the U.S. is still its own state. It collects its own taxes, enforces its state laws, and maintain its National Guard formations. Frankly, the way it is now is somewhat like the U.S. government. Your "slaves" are the various states with your "main" as the capital and seat of power. |
Diminic Cameron | Wednesday, July 24, 2013 - 12:07 am But there should be a way to form them as one country but still keep the aspect of them being separate. |
XON Xyooj | Saturday, July 27, 2013 - 11:25 pm american states were united to form the "united states of america" and directives comes from dc. state patrols are no match to military branches of the nation, which are federal controlled by the federal government. each state may have their own state laws but those laws do not supersed the federal laws. sc is a game, i am the owner of my countries so i should have the power to choose to be one country or many countries. my sc population has no voice to like or not like me, because there is no voting system in sc for my population. |
Teh Kilrain | Monday, July 29, 2013 - 03:18 pm They do have a voting system. Simians voted eons ago that they would never allow their countries to be combined into one large country, and that is why we don't have it today. They compromised and said we could form empires and rename their beautiful country names, but never be combined. Simians have all the power, you just don't see it. That is why they remain unemployed in your country. They are all camped in the parks in your nation's capitol. |
XON Xyooj | Tuesday, July 30, 2013 - 05:45 am right on kilrain there seems to be always unemployment regardless of how you manage your empire |
