James the Fair | Friday, March 15, 2013 - 10:20 pm I believe there is a better and much simpler way for everyone to understand that there should be 2 simple 'Overall defence index levels' which are the 'Peaceful Mode' and the 'War mode' as it could work like this...... From 0-20 (Peaceful Mode) You will be protected from war, it would be like a form of automatic war protection for your countries. Although if you were defeated in war for example, and were driven down to this index level after the war with a large empire, it means you will be safe from war at this level but also means your countries could well suffer from rebellions and riots due to the lack of military presence across your empire. From 21+ (War Mode) This is where you will have enough and a decent amount of military strength to fend off many enemies. This is where PvP wars will be possible so be prepared. Also respecting the other players at this level will be absolutely crucial if you want to survive as a decent military power. |
James the Fair | Friday, March 15, 2013 - 11:13 pm The benefits of these 2 levels would be. In Peaceful Mode * Will give you a chance to build up a decent army first before entering the war mode. * Play peacefully without the threat of other players attacking you. Which also means you can't attack them either. * In this mode it will allow you to make more money as an army is not a nessessity at this level as it is often a burden on a country's economy. In War Mode * You will be able to attack other players but be wary of their power. * You will have a decent military force ready to fight other players. * After a major war and were driven down to a level below the war mode level, you will re-enter peaceful mode in order to give you a chance rebuild your army back up again to the war mode for PvP warring. |
dillonmittan | Saturday, March 16, 2013 - 12:57 am Most of the reason why the GM added war levels was to prevent giant 10 country players from squashing free members or people that were a lot weaker. |
James the Fair | Saturday, March 16, 2013 - 01:33 am I know dillon, even with the current war levels my country was invaded by a giant player as I was much weaker than him, so in that sense the war levels actually has'nt made that much of a difference like you think it has. The current system is flawed as you CAN'T attack another player who is more than 2 levels above you or 2 levels below in some cases. So my idea is this, Peaceful mode will act like the current war levels 0,1 and 2 combined. While the War mode will act like war level 3 or above combined. It's not even like anybody is going to know about the military strengths of each player, it would only tell you if whether they are in peaceful mode or in war mode. So if you want to stay peaceful, then DON'T BUILD A LARGE MILITARY as you don't need it. Why would you want a large military if you only intend to be entirely peaceful? or if you do want a large military and aim to play the war game, then build up and enter the war mode with caution. |

James the Fair | Tuesday, March 19, 2013 - 12:54 pm When will you realise, that I am trying to get players well prepared before they enter PvP wars and not get knocked out soo easilly like they used to in the past for no good reason, look what happened to me recently, Serpent had nothing to fear from me and knew he had 100% chance of winning against me. At least i'm thinking unlike you criticising at everything all the time. |
Edgar | Tuesday, March 19, 2013 - 01:55 pm James, You are missing Crafty's point. You weren't defeated because of a failure in the current war levels. You would have suffered the same fate under any version of your war indexes or any other plan because you carelessly and needlessly started a war. It appeared you did it to win favor with your nluo friends. Which by the way how did that work out for you? Some great Fed mates you have there. Face the reality that no matter what the game rules were you doomed yourself by starting a needless and ill advised war you had not prepared yourself to fight. You can't correctly blame the system for your defeat. Only you can save you from yourself. There isn't a WL or index that will change that fact. |
James the Fair | Tuesday, March 19, 2013 - 02:10 pm I know I did.... but i've been thinking of this idea LONG before I went to war with Serpent as this game is too restricted with these damn war levels. " you had not prepared yourself to fight. You can't correctly blame the system for your defeat." It's true I can't blame the system for my defeat, however I should have prepared myself to fight much more than I should have done, as I feel there should have been a minimum defence level requirement to stop me from warring so early before starting a war with another player. |
Crafty | Tuesday, March 19, 2013 - 08:10 pm I'm trying to educate you James, not criticise you. Another important thing to learn. You made the decisions about your dealings with Serpent, no one else. You can't blame the game set up. Been there, done that, son. |
