Scarlet (Little Upsilon) | Monday, June 27, 2011 - 05:31 am My suggestion is to eliminate or alter certain weapons to focus the weapons market in fewer corporation types and simplify the military system slightly: Eliminate: Light Artillery Light Tanks Anti Tank Missile Batteries Land to Sea Missile Batteries Heavy Armored Vehicles Heavy Jeeps Light Attack Boats Nuclear Missile Batteries Chemical Missile Batteries This would make Jeeps + Armored Vehicles purely defensive without harming offensive potential. Artillery and Tanks would become purely offensive without harming defensive potential. Several useless offensive weapons would be eliminated. Nuclear Missile Batteries could be merged with Strategic Bombers. Chemical Missile Batteries could be merged with Tactical Weapons Launchers. This would also eliminate 14 of the not-useful or redundant products. Alter: Off Anti Aircraft Missile Batteries Guided Missile Frigates Seals Units OAAMB could use a small (20%) firepower boost to be more useful. GMF would be better converted to a non-missile weapon (or an MIB/NMIB immune weapon) with the equal (or reduced firepower if unbalanced at equal firepower) to differentiate it from Cruise Missile Ships. Seals would be good as a naval version of Special Forces. |
rep (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, June 28, 2011 - 05:08 am Seems to make sense to me. Would the eliminations have an effect on c3s? In other words, would implementing this changeover cause a c3 to become easier to conquer, or would you compensate by increasing the standard allotment of AV, or perhaps increasing the defensive strength of fortifications? Not that I'd have a problem with weaker c3s!:P Also like the thought of dispensing with some of the redundant offensive weapons. And combining the nuke/chemical into the Strat/Tac is a VERY good idea IMO. |
Scarlet (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, June 28, 2011 - 05:40 am According to the Weapons doc (which is generally slightly off), AV have 800% the firepower (when I say firepower, I mean specifically Damage * Accuracy * Ammo per use) of either Light Artillery or Light Tanks and Jeeps have 125% the firepower - all of these are compared to Heavy Artillery/Tanks. It would make more sense to switch to Jeeps to maintain fighting power. |
James the fair (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, June 28, 2011 - 02:06 pm I can see where you're coming from Scarlet there is too many weapons whose functions are very simular and identical to each other. I'm finding conquering a C3 very hard at war level 3, I wish the gamemasters of this game would make conquering soo much easier. |
rep (Little Upsilon) | Tuesday, June 28, 2011 - 06:12 pm Thanks Scarlet. Seems strange that a jeep would have more firepower than arty or tanks (must be mounted with 120mm guns!). |
Noproblem (Fearless Blue) | Thursday, August 18, 2011 - 12:49 pm On a new track, how about making Missle Defense Division weapons numbers a number evenly divisble by 3. There are three types of weapons in this unit, nnd the number of allowed weapons should be evenly divisible by 3. Along the lines that Scarlet suggested, I think that only 1 type of strategic missle battery should be needed. It would be able to launch any of the following weapons: Nuclear Missles, Tactical Nuclear Weapons, and Chemical Missles. Possibly call them Strategic Missle Batteries. |
James the fair (Little Upsilon) | Thursday, August 18, 2011 - 05:21 pm I agree with most of this what you lot are all saying but I disagree of the idea to eliminate the anti tank missile batteries as they're litually invincible when attacking defensive tanks, jeeps, artillery and armoured vehicles once the main defensive misslile batteries, misslile interceptor batteries and anti air defensive batteries are destroyed, usually by the presison bombers. |
Noproblem (Fearless Blue) | Tuesday, October 18, 2011 - 11:24 am We might as well continue with the simplication ideas. One type of defensive missle battery, capable of launching all three types primary defensive missles: anti-aircraft, defensive and missle interceptors. possibly call them defensive Missle Batteries. One type of offensive missle battery, capable of launching: offensive anti-aircraft missles, anti-tank missles, medium range missles, and conventional missles. Possibly call them Offensive Missle Batteries. See my post above. There would be only three types of batteries. |
