This is extreme conditionality and restrictiveness for trading a few 'Gold Coins':

(Direct Trading link from portal)

"One or more corporations on Little Upsilon are in debt.
Please pay off your debts before you exchange Game Money for Gold Coins.
This page is refreshed every 8 hours. It may take 8 hours before you can buy coins."

Not only can you not transfer in more than 60B SC$ cash to corporations, but it won't auto-pay debts, even though it does auto-start loans. It's a ridiculous chain of events that has to be tracked down, especially if in a large enterprise, just to get a few Gold Coins..in order to "extend entity expiration date".

The major issue though, is this: "This page is refreshed every 8 hours." limitation...how can this take so long, when it's the most critical item of all?

You practically can't do anything if an 'entity' is expired, so, how is it that "new servers and software" are being added, yet 'Gamemaster' can't even "update" more than 3 times [per earth] day...slower than all worlds.

Not to mention along with that, selling countries used to be just up for the highest bidder, but with all the restrictions of changes in the DFI or Education Index, or anything really..It cant sell, so most country sells have to be done via forums and pre arranged which really leaves newer players out of the runnings for bidding on good amount of pop countries to expand their empires and make their own...

Insider Trading..Where's Martha Stewart? the little guys aren't getting a slice of the cake!

I mean seriously, I'd love to offer some of these countries I have on the market before I get to stripping them down, but if I do, then I hafta wait and wait on a bid, even if i listed at 50gc, then when it doesnt go through, message them through the communications mail button, then see if they want it, then find a time for them to be on to relist it for them, etc..I just stopped posting them unless someone said they wanted it. lol cause in 8 Hrs, if ur country is for instance losing money by not being a financial country or an empty shell the amount of cash in it is obviously going to be reduced by the time it refreshes. lol

I put my voice in with CPs. Ageed, it is silly restriction, very annoying. I run war slaves that often go a bit in debt before I can top them up, I go to buy GC when a good deal appears on the market and miss it due to this.

If you transfer in the cash to the in-debt country and hit the pay back all loans button, couldn't the accounts status be updated immediately?

Or perhaps an override if you have x amount of money or x amount of GC in your direct trading account? It's hard enough to keep 40 countries running, much less pay attention when 1 accidentally takes a small debt.

yeah, from the direct trading page, a button that says pay all, and refresh, you take care of it in one shot, rather than maybe spending 20 minutes tracking it all down...

Thats all very well and would help, the pay all button, but I think a major part of the issue is the waiting 8 hrs for the account to update.
Its like why do you have to wait 24hrs between population sales? Both designed to make running war machines and warring less and less attractive.
This is against Jozi's statement in a chat session that he wants to keep war in SC.

I remember Jozi saying they did not intend to interfere with the way wars are being conducted long before the introduction of War Levels and such. I took him at his word. Why? Maybe because I was naive enough to do so. I think at the time he meant what he said, but ultimately went back on it. Wuteva!

OK, re-checked that page: Enterprise page > Corporations > Manage Loans > then can check all and re-pay fairly easily. So, agree on that, it's not a major issue, and that was already stated in the original post.

So, that leaves the "up to 8-hour delay".

The suggestion would be to reduce or eliminate that "delay", if possible. Thank you.

I agree with Crafty. Large war slaves go into debt from time to time. I used to finance my war slaves through warring, basically making them earn their keep so to speak. With war all but gone now, inevitably my big war slaves are gonna have some debt now and then.

What is the harm in purchasing gold coins when debt exists anyway?? I'm sure there is a really good reason right??
