Eeoulo (Kebir Blue) | Sunday, January 25, 2009 - 04:11 am Greetings, I recently started the game and am on KB. It seems like quite a daunting task to try and compete with so many well established countries and enterprises. Is there any design to release any new worlds soon? I'm going to go for full member but it seems best to do it on a new world. |
Keith Allaire (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 25, 2009 - 04:37 am Problem: New servers get old. Players establish themselves on new servers. Then, a year from now, newbies trying to get established are in the same spot you are in now. Leading to a never-ending stream of new servers. Thus a never-ending moneypit for W3C. There is plenty of room on the existing worlds, and it is plenty easy to get in the top couple hundred ranks if you conduct yourself in a diplomatic manner and find an experienced mentor to share advice with you |
Eeoulo | Sunday, January 25, 2009 - 04:46 am So what you're saying is they dont add new servers to the game? Did all the current servers come up at the same time? |
Stuart Taylor (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 25, 2009 - 04:49 am No. I started here around 8 RL months ago. My main is now ranked 19th, but had a high of 6th. I have a war slave ranked 10 in the war ranks, and a CEO ranked 29th overall. I led a federation of over 180 countries (3rd largest fed on LU) untill a couple of weeks ago, and I get on well with most other players on here. There are some players who have been here for years, yes. But sadly - W3C seem to have decided to level the playing field in the last few months, making it even easier for a new player to get started. If you conduct yourself properly towards other players, you can do pretty well in 8 months..... |
Sir Michael (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 25, 2009 - 05:12 am A new server was added about two years ago when LU came on-line. The are to many unoccupied countries for W3C to consider adding a new server/world. |
Eeoulo (Kebir Blue) | Sunday, January 25, 2009 - 05:52 am I see I see, thanks for the feedback. I had no idea this game had been up so long that people have been here a couple of years. Does there seem to be a fair amount of turn over of people leaving and more joining? |
Alexander Platypus (Little Upsilon) | Sunday, January 25, 2009 - 09:45 am Eeoulo - you can see for yourself how many countries do and do not have presidents on the different worlds. You can examine on your own which continents or regions are more empty, and which have "red" or "pink" countries all over the place. Dont forget almost all the "black" countries are temporary presidents who will leave in 21 days. |
shaun (Little Upsilon) | Wednesday, January 28, 2009 - 04:49 am im like 50 days in on LU and am in 2nd place trying to win the number 1 gc award but im 60 pts behind and dont know if i will make it... i paid the original fee to get the longest full member benefits and with a lot of time spent learning the game i am doing well for myself... and when you run out of GC well you can start up on the other worlds 1 at a time and make some more in a few weeks by leveling up right quick after you get the knowledge and strategy down to further your main empire wherever it may be. a lot of the active players play on multiple worlds so u will see familiar faces, and people do tend to come and go around the time i joined up atleast like a dozen others did and ive seen players take over a few inactive nations... |
Pathetic Sheep (Little Upsilon) | Monday, February 2, 2009 - 03:57 am I've been on LU for 5 weeks. I have an empire of 11 countries and will deregister about half of them this weekend. If you learn the war engine well you can take countries from long time players. Learning to manipulate the war engine would be much more difficult on a planet were veteran players were not around as examples. The easiest lucrative targets are countries that were developed for a long time and then recently abandoned. None would exist on a totally new world. A new world would be more competitive and difficult. The economics of a new world would also be challenging. |
