Take for example the F/A18. Americans fly them off of aircraft carriers. Canadians fly them in Saskatchewan. F/A18s would work fine in Bolivia, Luxembourg or the Czech Republic.

In the real world most weapons can be attached to multiple types of aircraft. Most real aircraft can carry many types of bombs and missiles. Simcountry limits one bomb type to each aircraft type vis versa.

it helps to expand your global military reach. air power has a range restriction navy does not it is kind of funny when the navy is landlocked on ur country map.

Now we know why Stuart was accused of being a terrorist. They thought he was trying to bomb the economic forum but really he was just proving that you could land a jet on a rubber raft in lake Geneva.

It would make coastal countries more valuable.
I think that would be a good thing.

Inland countries do have navies, its called navigable rivers.

Not only that, but I estimate that 90% (if not more) of SC countries are inland. That would give an unfair advantage to players like myself who have a coastline. I agree that it is unrealistic that fleets seem to be able to 'hover' above the land masses, but then again - that is a reletively minor bug.

Unfair? No. Natural? Yes.

If any of this matters anything now? No.

MODIFICATION:Countries without coastline should rent or buy a navy from countries with cost line, in that way the game get more reality, that is waht we love of this game

I actually didn't realize I could build a Navy without a coast. I have been waiting on this one country to come open so I could expand out to the coast to start my navy. Thanks! :)

Inland countries DO have navies.

"You can land a jet on a rubber raft in Lake Geneva"

LMAO. I'm writing that one down.

My aircraft carriers are amphibious.

i am for this suggestion. when i first started the game i believed intuitively only coastal nations could use navies, i think everyone when they first start would believe that. so it should be that way.

I am Not for this decison.I think it's not fair for others inland, and I agree that this is a minor bug.
It also keeps for the realistics of the wars fought for all players.

how does it keep for realistics of war when very far inland nations surrounded by hostile nations can use a navy? thats not at all realistic, how would an inland mountain nation surrounded by enemies be able to communicate or control its far away naval forces? seems pretty preposterous to me

Navigable rivers... how many rivers can you get a modern aircraft carrier up... and then use it to fight... the words duck and sit come to mind...

i think it is un realistic but i am for it because not allowing inland countries to have a navy would make a unfair advantage to costline countries

Tsunamis and hurricanes with storm surges could counter any coastal advantage.
